A1101/6 Lowering limit 0 36 Electronic Verification signal of the switch (S1103) status. With open switch signal = approx 9 volts, if the
switch module switch is closed signal = 0 volts. In the 0 volt condition the hoist lowering function is blocked.

shutdown On/Off
S1101P Main hoist active 0 12 Pressure The N/C pressure switch monitors the pilot (control) pressure from Y1107. The switch has a
switch threshold pressure of 3 bar and is used to trigger a (Main hoist active) signal to ECOS (ESX
0) when the contacts open. This signal removal (> 3 bar) then provides a function interlock to prevent
another direction being selected until the internal signal (Main hoist active) is removed by the signal
being re-established when the pilot (control pressure) falls to < 3 bar, allowing the switch
contacts to close. This signal confirms the function is at rest and a new direction command
will be accepted.
S1102 Main hoist 3 3 Self-return Momentary (touch) switch output signal for Main hoist function control. The switch output (24
shutdown ON/Off switch V Pin 1) cycles the Main hoist function On/Off.
Y1101 Lowering 0 24 Valve A 3/2 switching solenoid valve for port aX3 on the main control valve block for the 'lowering'
function. The valve is energised by ECOS (ESX 0) to allow entry of spool pilot (control)
pressure from proportional valve Y1107. Additionally, for the lowering function it is necessary
that the valve Y1104 (Lowering brake) and Y1205 (Raising/Lowering brake) is energised
(brake released).
Y1102 Raising 0 2 Valve A 3/2 pilot switching solenoid valve for port bY3 on the main control block for the 'raise'
function. The valve is energised by ECOS (ESX 0) to allow entry of spool pilot (control)
pressure from the proportional valve Y1107. Additionally, for the raise function it is necessary
that the valve Y1105 (Raising/Lowering brake) is energised (brake released).
Y1104 Lowering brake 0 61 Valve This 3/2 valve releases the brake/motor control valve for 'lowering' (flow of current =>
brake/motor control valve released). When energised by ECOS (ESX 0), it switches pump flow
(P1) to release the spring applied hoist brake and then takes over the release of the motor
control valve. The hoist holding brake is initially released by solenoid Y1105 via pilot pressure
as it is energised in conjunction with Y1104.
Y1105 Raising/Lowering 0 42 Valve This 3/2 valve releases the brake for 'raising/lowering' (flow of current => brake released).
brake When energised by ECOS (ESX 0), it switches pilot (control) pressure to release the spring
applied hoist holding brake. The pilot (control) pressure will be replaced by main pressure (P1)
when it rises above the pilot (control) pressure. It is energised for raising and energised in
conjunction with Y1104 for lowering.
Y1107 Speed control main 0 46 Proportional This proportional valve controls the pilot (control) pressure, which acts on the spool (auxiliary
hoist valve hoist) in the main control block via valves Y1101 (lowering) and Y1102 (raising). The valve
has a pressure range of approximately 4.5 - 20 bar, based on the control current from ECOS
(ESX 0). The applied proportional pressure to the spool thus controls the spool stroke and
therefore the function speed. Pilot (control) pressure is equally applied to the switching valves
(Y1101 & Y1102), which are individually energised by ECOS (ESX 0) to select the desired
function direction.

Telescoping: telescoping valve (telescope) in the main control block via valves Y2103 (retract) and Y2104 (extend). The valve
Group 21 has a pressure range of approximately 4.5 - 20 bar, based on the control current from ECOS
(ESX 0). The applied proportional pressure to the spool thus controls the spool stroke and
therefore the function speed. Pilot (control) pressure is equally applied to the switching valves
(Y2103 & Y2104), which are individually energised by ECOS (ESX 0) to select the desired
function direction.

derricking valve (derricking) in the main control block via valves Y2101 (lowering) and Y2102 (raising). The
valve has a pressure range of approximately 4.5 - 20 bar, based on the control current from
ECOS (ESX 0). The applied proportional pressure to the spool thus controls the spool stroke
and therefore the function speed. Pilot (control) pressure is equally applied to the switching
valves (Y2101 & Y2102), which are individually energised by ECOS (ESX 0) to select the
desired function direction.
Y2120 Speed control 1 47 Proportional Proportional valve for the function 'Derricking down'. This regulates the flow of oil coming out
derricking down valve of the derricking cylinder and thus the speed of the derricking down function. The valve is
energised via ECOS (ESX 1) and controls the holding valve with pilot (control) pressure
supply via Y2121 to ensure system safety.
Y2121 Release derricking 1 48 Valve A 3/2 switching valve for the function 'Derricking down'. When energised by ECOS (ESX 1),
down releases the pilot (control) pressure for the proportional valve Y2120 (Holding valve derricking
down) and thus takes on a security function to prevent a single valve action being able to
operate the holding valve.
Y2130 Select boom 1 61 Valve This 2/2 (leak free) switching valve selects pump P1 flow path for the 'telescope pinning'
section pins / tele (unlock) functions. Energised -> telescoping cylinder pins (ECOS ESX 1). De-energised ->
cyl. pins boom section pins.
Y2131 Hold unlocked 1 62 Valve This 2/2 (leak free) valve, when energised by ECOS (ESX 1), blocks the return path to the
position cylinder transfer tube for any displaced oil from either the slave cylinder or telescope cylinder
pins. This holds the induced unlocking pressure (pin unlocked status) and allows telescoping
regardless of any volumetric change in the transfer tube caused by telescoping.

Y2133 Locked / unlocked 1 63 Valve This 4/2 switching valve, when energised by ECOS (ESX 1), switches pump P1 flow path to
the cylinder transfer tube, which is then supplied with a maximum pressure of 100 bar (subject
to Y2134 being de-energised). This pressure is then routed to the pins (telescope
cylinder/boom section) which have been selected via valve Y2130. Subsequently, the
respective pins will be unlocked.
Y2134 Charge cylinder 1 21 Valve This 4/2 switching valve, when energised, serves to charge the cylinder transfer tube with a
transfer tube filling pressure of 10 bar . It is energised via ECOS (ESX 1) if the telescoping cylinder pins or
the boom section pins are unlocked and the telescoping cylinder is extending.

transmitted via CAN bus to the carrier electronic module (ESX 4) which then provides a
control current to two proportional brake solenoid valves (Y4123 & Y4124).
S4204 Select differential 3 X7/1 Toggle The superstructure switch input signal (24 V) to I/0 board 3 energises solenoid Y4104 via ESX

Carrier level H4301 Raise indication Signal lamp Lamp H4301 is illuminated to indicate that 'suspension raise' is the selected function direction
adjustment system: via switch S4307.
Group 43
H4302 Lower indication Signal lamp Lamp H4302 is illuminated to indicate that 'suspension lower' is the selected function direction
via switch S4307.
H4303 Automatic highway 0 X3/3 Signal lamp Lamp H4303 illuminates to indicate that the vehicle is not at a correct highway ride height
levelling position. The lamp circuit is activated via switch S4308 (Rocker switch for highway levelling).

OUT4301 Release switch 0 X3/6 Signal When the keyswitch (S4103) is selected (contacts closed) and when the axle blocking is
power supply released via S4103 (confirmed by pressure switch S4106P) then OUT4301 is active. This
output provides a power supply to the control switches and respective switch warning lamps.
See =43/3.3
S4301 Key switch 0 X6/1 Key operated The key switch input activates the suspension control module, subject to the axle blocking
switch being released. Additionally, it is the central release for: transmission upshift lock (20 kph), all-
wheel steering, additional drive, differential long locks and differential cross locks.
S4301N Front left 1 X6/1 Proximity The N/C proximity switch function, required as an integral part of the automatic highway
suspension group, switch levelling feature is installed in the first axle line (left) suspension strut (lower switch) and
too high detects the inner support tube as a height reference to hold the switch open. Should the
switch travel above its height reference it will fall closed and provide a signal to I/0 board 1,
which will subsequently cause the suspension group to lower until the switch is opened by its
height reference against the support tube.
S4302 Crane right side 0 X6/2 Twin action The rocker switch is controlled by the operator to provide a command for raise or lower
raise/lower switch function, subject to selection (raise/lower) via rocker switch S4307. Subsequently, via I/0
boards 1 & 2, solenoids Y4302 & Y4306 will be energised in conjunction with Y4709 (pump
command) via ESX4 for the raise function. Should the lower function be selected, solenoids
Y4302 & Y4306 will be energised without the need for Y4709 as the crane will lower by
gravity.

suspension group, switch levelling feature is installed in the first axle line (left) suspension strut (upper switch) and
too low detects the inner support tube as a height reference to hold the switch closed. Should the
switch travel below its height reference it will close and provide a signal to I/0 board 1, which
will subsequently cause the suspension group to raise until the switch falls open due to losing
its height reference against the support tube.
S4303 Crane front, 0 X6/3 Twin action The rocker switch is controlled by the operator to provide a command for raise or lower
raise/lower switch function, subject to selection (raise/lower) via rocker switch S4307. Subsequently, via I/0

Steering system: H4706 Unlocking axle 3 0 X3/4 Signal lamp The warning lamp illuminates to indicate that axle 3 is unlocked from its highway travel mode
Chassis: and is now locked to axle 4, which is unlocked from axles 1 & 2 to form two independent
Group 47 steering groups. The lamp will flash while the locking/unlocking process is in transition.

S4702/3 All-wheel steer, 0 X7/3 Twin action When the rocker switch is held in position 2 the switch provides a 24 V signal from pin 3 to I/O
steer left switch board 0 to steer axles 3 & 4 to the left.
S4702/4 All-wheel steer, 0 X7/4 Twin action When the rocker switch is held in position 1 the switch provides a 24 V signal from pin 4 to I/O
steer right switch board 0 to steer axles 3 & 4 to the right.
S4703M All-wheel steering 4 34 Limit switch The switch is N/O and is located (lower switch) directly in the body of the steering idler to
idler, lower switch monitor the locking status of the all-wheel steering. The switch is open when the idler is in the
highway position (fully locked) and closes when the idler begins to unlock. This switched
signal initiates the transition signal (flashing lamp H4706/H4806) and terminates the re-locking
process (slow motion) when the switch returns to its N/O state.
S4704 Select all-wheel 0 X7/2 Toggle The rocker switch S4704 (with a safety lock) provides the all-wheel steering unlock signal (24
steering switch V) to I/O board 0. This initiates the unlocking of axle 3 from its highway travel mode via
solenoid Y4701 (pneumatic) and its re-locking to axle 4, which is unlocked from axles 1 & 2 to
form two independent steering groups.
S4704M All-wheel steering 4 12 Limit switch The switch is N/C and is located (upper switch) directly in the body of the steering idler to
idler, upper switch monitor the locking status of the all-wheel steering. The switch is held open when the idler is in
the highway position (fully locked) and closes when the idler is fully unlocked. This switched
signal initiates the warning lamps status (H4706/H4806) from flashing to permanent and the
necessary hydraulic solenoid configuration for all-wheel steering.
S4705N All-wheel steering 4 35 Proximity The N/O proximity switch S4705N monitors the position of axles 1 & 2 for the all-wheel
20° locking range switch steering re-locking process. The switch is held closed when axles 1 & 2 are within 20° of the
straight ahead position. This signal inhibits the re-locking process until axles 1 & 2 exceed
>20° to the left/right lock, which then allows the re-locking process to begin via action of the
slow motion solenoid Y4704.
S4706 Emergency supply 0 X4/1 Toggle The switch routes an analogue signal (8.5 V) into the I/O board to energise solenoid =47Y09
switch (flow diverter/pressure build-up) to provide hydraulic flow for emergency operations.
Y4701 Unlock axle 3 4 42 Valve The pneumatic solenoid (when energised) provides an air supply to the all-wheel steering
idler, which unlocks axle 3 from its highway mode and re-locks it in its all-wheel steering
mode.
Y4702 All-wheel steering, 4 25 Valve When energised, this 4/3 solenoid valve directs pump flow (P1) to steer axles 3 & 4 to the left.
left (Axles 3 + 4)
Y4703 All-wheel steering, 4 3 Valve When energised, this 4/3 solenoid valve directs pump flow (P1) to steer axles 3 & 4 to the
right (Axles 3 + 4) right.
Y4704 All-wheel steering, 4 49 Valve When energised, the 2/2 solenoid valve routes oil flow to axles 3 & 4 via a 2 mm orifice. This
slow motion function allows axles 1 & 2 to operate at a greater speed to facilitate the re-locking process.

Y4709 Flow diverter valve 4 46 Valve When energised, this 4/2 solenoid routes pump P1 to the functions: all-wheel steering,

System Identification Function Type Description
No Pin Board Pin
Steering system: Y4710 Steer left 4 24 Valve When energised, this 4/3 solenoid valve routes oil flow from pump P4 to drive an orbit motor,
Chassis: (Superstructure) which then drives a geared input to the carrier steering box. This gives a steer left function to
Group 47 axles 1, 2 & 4 in normal steering mode, and only axles 1 & 2 in all-wheel steering mode.

Y4711 Steer right 4 2 Valve When energised, this 4/3 solenoid valve routes oil flow from pump P4 to drive an orbit motor,
(Superstructure) which then drives a geared input to the carrier steering box. This gives a steer right function to
axles 1, 2 & 4 in normal steering mode, and only axles 1 & 2 in all-wheel steering mode.

Y4721_Y4722 Control solenoids, 4 43 Valve When energised, the 4/2 solenoids Y4721 & Y4722 separate the normal steering function of
left axles 1 & 2 from axle 4 and connect axle 4 to the all-wheel steering function. Solenoids Y4731
& Y4732 are energised in conjunction with the above solenoids.
Y4731_Y4732 Control solenoids, 4 64 Valve When energised, the 4/2 solenoids Y4731 & Y4732 separate the normal steering function of
right axles 1 & 2 from axle 4 and connect axle 4 to the all-wheel steering function. Solenoids Y4721
& Y4722 are energised in conjunction with the above solenoids.

Steering system: H4806 Unlocking axle 3 3 X6/6 Signal lamp The warning lamp illuminates to indicate that axle 3 is unlocked from its highway travel mode
Super: (Super) and is now locked to axle 4, which is unlocked from axles 1 & 2 to form two independent
Group 48 steering groups. The lamp will flash while the locking/unlocking process is in transition.

S4804 Select all-wheel 3 X6/5 Toggle The rocker switch S4804 (with a safety lock) provides the all-wheel steering unlock signal (24
steering (Super) switch V) to I/O board 3. This initiates the unlocking of axle 3 from its highway travel mode via
solenoid Y4701 (pneumatic) and its re-locking to axle 4, which is unlocked from axles 1 & 2 to
form two independent steering groups.
