The Writing Process

The document discusses the key steps in the writing process: 1. Focusing on a topic involves narrowing down a general topic by thinking of a related question and answering it with details to develop an initial thesis statement. 2. Organizing ideas involves outlining the main ideas, subtopics, and supporting details generated from answering the question that leads to the thesis statement. 3. Drafting is writing the first draft focusing on content and organization without worrying about grammar or mechanics. Feedback is then obtained to improve the draft.
