1. Ensure the implementation of health and safety protocols during in-person classes.
2. Orient parents, community, barangay officials, civil society organizations and other partners
about the pilot testing, process, standard, roles and responsibilities
3. Mobilize resources and support from community stakeholders ( LGU, parents, health
workers, NGO) to meet standard of health and safety protocols
4. Establish coordination mechanisms with BEHRT and LGUs for referral system, contact
tracing, school traffic management, disinfection, school lockdown.
5. Establish psychosocial support mechanisms to learners and school personnel
6. And lastly, develop contingency plan in case of school lockdown.
This school contingency plan shall ensure continuity of learning in case a member
of the school community becomes a close contact, suspect, probable, or confirmed COVID-
19 case. It also serves as a basis if a school lockdown is needed due to COVID-19 cases
within or outside the school.
It contains different case scenarios that may affect school operations, and the
immediate response of each key person to prevent, detect, isolate, and treat COVID-19. It
also contains strategies to maintain school operations and safe resumption of face-to-face
classes.
Initial Response
The health and safety of our personnel, students and stakeholders is our main priority. Sto.
Rosario National High School together with the school staff, the Task Force Alpha, Coordinator, PTA
Officers, Faculty Officers, SSG Officers and the Barangay Officials agreed that proper coordination
and communication from the Barangay Chairman and the School Principal must be properly observe
for the suspension of classes in case of a school lockdown due to related Covid 19 Cases within the
Barangay of Sto. Rosario, Minalin or any personnel, students and other stakeholders who are
infected or show symptoms of Covid 19.
1. Response Mechanism
The following person shall have the following responsibilities:
Prepare the needed resources (e.g., Shiela V. Pronce – School Health Coordinator
alcohol, face mask, face shield, etc.) to
prevent the transmission of COVID-19
Report Case to BHERT and School Nurse Shiela V. Pronce – School Health Coordinator
for proper monitoring
2. Collect Information
To assist health authorities and the local government unit in contact tracing. the
designated School's Health Coordinator Shiela V. Pronce will collect the following
information of the individual who shows symptoms or is reported to be a close
contact of a confirmed case:

Symptoms experienced by the individual (if any)
a. Contact the identified health authority (e.g., barangay health station, rural health
unit) to cooperate regarding the appropriate measures such as tracing and
quarantine, or referral to a hospital if needed.
b. Contact other school personnel (from the different set of classes per week) in case
there will be a need to shift to distance learning modality. A teacher must also be
informed and guided it he/she shall be a substitute teacher in case a fellow teacher
becomes unable to physically report to school for a long period due to being infected
with COVID-19 or other acceptable reasons
SPECIFIC SCENARIOS
Scenario 1 A household member of learner or school personnel shows symptoms
of COVID-19 but has not been tested. The learner or personnel is not
showing symptoms of COVID-19.
Scenario 2 A household member of learner or school personnel is a confirmed
case of COVID-19. The learner or personnel is not showing symptoms
of COVID-19.
Scenario 3 A learner or school personnel is identified to be a close contact of a
confirmed case of COVID-19 outside of their household. The learner or
personnel is not showing symptoms of COVID-19.
Scenario 4 A learner or school personnel show symptoms of COVID-19 but is not
known to be in close contact with a confirmed case.
Scenario 5 A learner or school personnel show symptoms of COVID-19 and is in
close contact with a confirmed case.
Scenario 6 A learner or school personnel who has symptoms test negative for
COVID-19 and is not known to be in close contact with a confirmed
case.
Scenario 7 A learner or school personnel who has symptoms test negative for
COVID-19 but is known to be in close contact with a confirmed case.
Scenario 8 A learner or school personnel tests positive for COVID-19.
Scenario 9 There are confirmed cases of COVID-19 outside the school. There are
no known close contacts in the school. A granular lockdown in the
barangay was announced by the LGU.
Scenario 10 There is a high resurgence of COVID-19 in an adjacent barangay. The
affected barangay is known to be frequented by members of the
barangay where the school is located.
Scenario 11 There is a resurgence of COVID-19 in multiple barangays in the
municipality where the school is located, and there is a change in the
risk classification of the municipality. The barangay where the school is
located is not adjacent to the barangays with COVID-19 resurgence.
There are no known cases in the specific barangay of the school.
SCENARIO 1
A household member of learner or school personnel shows symptoms of COVID-19
but has not been tested. The learner or personnel is not showing symptoms of COVID-19.
SCENARIO 2
A household member of learner or school personnel is a confirmed case of COVID-
19. The learner or personnel is not showing symptoms of COVID-19.
Other household If the close contact in the school is a learner, the school shall
members engage other household members regarding the home-school
arrangement, including the time of pick-up of the learner (if in
school at the time information was communicated).
SCENARIO 3
A learner or school personnel is identified to be a close contact of a confirmed case
of COVID-19 outside of their household. The learner or personnel is not showing
symptoms of COVID-19.
Note: The LGU shall inform them if they are also identified as
close contacts. If not a close contact, they may continue
attending school or going to their workplace without a need for
quarantine. If they are also identified as close contact, they
shall be informed by the LGU to complete the seven (7) days
quarantine, regardless of negative test result and vaccination
status, before allowed to return to school or workplace. The
school is not required to give advice to other household
members.
SCENARIO 4
A learner or school personnel show symptoms of COVID-19 but is not known to be in
close contact with a confirmed case.
For mild: seven (7) day isolation for fully vaccinated and
ten (10) day for partially and unvaccinated has passed
form the first viral diagnostic test and remained
asymptomatic throughout their infection
SCENARIO 5
A learner or school personnel show symptoms of COVID-19 but is not known to be in
close contact with a confirmed case.
For mild: seven (7) day isolation for fully vaccinated and
ten (10) day for partially and unvaccinated has passed
form the first viral diagnostic test and remained
asymptomatic throughout their infection
Medical certification or repeat testing is not necessary for
the safe return to the school of immunocompetent
individuals, provided that a licensed medical doctor
certifies or clears the patient. He/she shall be advised to
isolate at home or in an isolation facility until the COVID-
19 test results have been released.
Local health Coordinate with local health authorities for evaluation of the
authority person showing symptoms, contact tracing activities, and
referral to a health facility, if the need arises.
All other learners Closely monitor the condition of all learners and school
and personnel personnel.

Since the teacher will be considered a close contact if a learner
in his/her class shows symptoms, identify the substitute
teacher who will conduct distance learning among the learners

may provide psychosocial support to the affected teacher if
needed.
Inform parents/guardians of learners in the class regarding the
situation and the shift in learning modality for one week.
For learners, provide appropriate support for a shift to distance

psychosocial support if needed.
Ensure that the learner or personnel has completed the seven
(7) day quarantine, regardless of negative test result and
vaccination status, before allowing him/her to return to school.
Household member If the person showing symptoms in the school is a learner, the
of the person school shall inform the household members regarding the
showing symptoms condition of the learner and the actions undertaken by the
school (e.g. providing emergency care, referring to the local
health authority). The local health authority shall be
responsible for coordinating with the household member if the
learner should be isolate at home or in an isolation facility.

vaccination status, before allowed to return to school or

There are confirmed cases of COVID-19 outside the school. There are no known close
