Job Description - Head of Strategy & Program Management Unit
Introduction:
A non-profit focused on developing innovative design solutions for rural transformation at scale
particularly for women in the bottom 100,000 villages of India. The organisation brings a deep
knowledge of working with grassroot communities and extensive formal engagements with
Government at state and national level to create scalable solutions for “stranded” India. Their
expertise on triggering community processes, has been codified into process guides, which have
been adopted and scaled up by India’s flagship rural development and panchayat development
programs.
The current strategy is focused on select states with high concentration of the bottom 100,000
villages, and developing sub-state regional suit-of-solutions. It plans to have over 50 sub-regional
block-level demonstration sites in 50 poorest districts, learnings from which can be leveraged by
State and National level government embedded units to impact developmental outcomes in 100
poorest districts of the country.

Must Haves:
• Master’s degree in social science or related fields, with minimum 15 years’ experience.
• Proven experience in leading strategy, program management and administration
• Adept at managing diverse internal and external stakeholders including the government, and
donors.
• Demonstrated outstanding organizational and leadership abilities, e.g., independently handling
organisational vertical, of part of a core group running a large institution, etc.
• The incumbent must have sound knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation
metrics. The incumbent should have experience in resource allocation and budget-focused
mindset Outstanding interpersonal skills, including above-average oral and written
communication skills and the ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the
organization.
Preferable:
• A highly qualified woman candidate with a proven track record of successful leadership in
strategic planning, program management and fundraising.
• Should possess advanced leadership skills, including the ability to inspire teams, manage diverse
stakeholders, and drive organizational performance.
