IV. Procedure
A. Preparation
Good morning class! I am Teacher Ada, your teacher for today. Are you now ready for
today’s lesson? Show me how ready you are by clicking the heart icon. Very well. Before we
start our lesson, what are the things that we should remember in our class discussion? (Listen,
mute the microphone, click the raise hand icon to participate)
1. Motivation
I’ve prepared series of pictures and we’re going to identify the action or situation shown in each
picture.
What does the 2021 calendar show? Since we’re now in 2022, the 2021
remains in what time? (Past)
How about this clock, what does it mean when the arrow pointed
backward? (Past Time) Yes, it talks about the past as well.
How about the history? When did history happen? (Past)
Very good, so all the pictures showed the same scenario and that is the past form of things or
situation.
B. Activity
Now, we’re going to watch a video presentation about the past form of an action. But before we
play the video, what are the things that we should consider? (Listen and understand the video,
mute your microphone and jog down important notes) If you’re now ready to watch, kindly click
the thumbs up icon.
C. Analysis
Did you enjoy the video class? How did you find it? Kindly click the heart icon if you find it
informative and fun. Great. Now, who can tell to the class what was the video all about? (The
video is all about the past form of regular verb)
Today we’re going to discuss the past form regular verb and how it is use in sentences. How
are we going to form the past tense of regular verb? (Regular verb forms its past form by
adding -d or -ed to its base form) What are the examples of regular verb in its past form?
(Pushed, listened, asked) What about if the verb ends with e? How do we get its past form?
(add -d) Who can give me examples of regular verb that ends with e, with its past form?
(lived, received, believed, achieved) What about if the verb ends with y with a consonant
before the y? How are we going to get its past form? (Omit the “y” and add – ied) Can you
give me some examples of regular verb that ends with y? (Cried, worried, dried, tried, fried)
When are we going to use the past form of the verb? (Always use the past tense of the verb if
the action happened in the past)
D. Abstraction
Now, we use the past form of regular verb. I have here sentences using the past form of
regular verbs. Let us read the following sentences.
1) When we are talking about something that continued for some time in the past;
2) When we are talking about something that happened several times in the past;
3) When we are talking about an event that happened at a particular time in the past.
Now I have here a table presenting some words use for time expression.
These are the words that can help us identify the past form of the verb.
1. Generalization
Did you understand our lesson class? If you did, kindly click the heart icon.
What form of the verb did we discuss a while ago? (Use the past form of verb) When do we
use the past form of regular verb? (Continued for some time in the past, happened several
times in the past, happened at a particular time in the past) Why is it important to learn about
the past form of regular verb? (It is important for us to learn the past form of verb, so that we
will know how to communicate and tell a story that already happened in the past. If we know
what form or tense of verb to use, we will be easily understood by the person we’re talking to.)
E. Application
Now, for me to know if you really understood our discussion, we’re going to have another
activity.
Directions: Change the verb inside the parenthesis into its past form. Write your answer on the
blank.
V. Evaluation
Directions: Write TRUE if the regular verb is in a past form and FALSE if not.
VI. Assignment
Construct five (5) sentences using the past form of regular verbs.
