necklace and placed it around Daisy’s neck.

The two friends were very happy spending their time together in the park.

Who played at the park last week?


Answer: Last week Daisy and Rose played at the park.

What did Rose want everyone to see?


Answer: Rose wanted everyone to see her necklace.

Where did Rose put the necklace after she removed it from her neck?
Answer: Rose placed it around Daisy’s neck.
Today, let us talk about the simple past tense of verbs.

To form the past tense of regular verbs, add –d or –ed to the base form.
The base form of regular verbs end in different ways. They may end in
vowels or consonants.

Here are some rules to follow when writing the past forms of regular verbs.

1. For verbs that end in e, simply add –d.


love – loved arrive – arrived
like – liked dance – danced

2. For verbs that end in y preceded by a consonant, change y to i

How to Form the Simple Present Tense of the Verb

A. For Singular Subjects/Nouns:


In forming the Simple Present Tense of the verb, we add –s or –es to the
verb. We follow these spelling rules:

I try to solve the problem myself.
The kids miss their school.
You go to church regularly.
 We use the base form or the original verb because the word
friends, I, kids, and You are all plural.
