 The SAP Activate implementation methodology in Roadmap Viewer guides project
teams to support the customer’s journey to the intelligent enterprise.

We continue to gather feedback from our own customer community, our SAP experts,
and partners, and we follow an agile methodology to build on the previous version and
continuously improve the content.

The content will be frequently updated, and this accelerator will provide the release
notes for the SAP Activate Methodology for RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private
edition.

October 23rd (2023) Release Notes

1. System Conversion deliverables, tasks & accelerators have been updated for
the Discover Phase. All phases will be completely updated for System
Conversion by end of 2023 to better differentiate it better from New
Implementation.
2. Added a link to the Customer User Stories related to SAP Activate to the Overview
page.

October 9th (2023) Release Notes

1. Removed the following Organizational Change Management Tasks:
a. Organizational Change Management Plan

August 14th (2023) Release Notes

1. The SAP Activate Methodology for SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition is now
available in both Chinese and Japanese languages.
2. New task Review the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Onboarding Journey added to the
Explore, Realize and Deploy phases. This task offers users the fundamental
knowledge and resources required to navigate through implementation projects
successfully.
3. Improvement to task Self-Enable on SAP Business Technology Platform:
1. Added a new accelerator Integration Architecture Guide for Cloud and
Hybrid Landscapes.
2. Updated the procedure description step three (3).
3. Remove task Self-Enable on B2B integration using EDI. Content from this
task is available in the Self Enablement task on BTP.
4. Various tasks have been enhanced to improve readability.
5. Multiple accelerators have been revised to ensure their relevance and up-to-
date status.

July 26th (2023) Release Notes

1. Updated the procedure description in task Setup and Enable Embedded
Analytics and updated the attached accelerator.
2. Various tasks have been enhanced to improve readability.

 3. Removed reference to the SAP One Support Launchpad in several tasks and
replaced them with SAP for Me. SAP for Me is now the digital hub for all SAP
Support related items.
4. Updated the project plan accelerator with new XML, Excel and Microsoft Project
files containing the latest changes we have made.

July 03rd (2023) Release Notes

1. Renamed task Perform a business scenario and solution mapping to Perform a
Digital Value Discovery Workshop. This task was also updated to substitute the
Discovery Card Game with the SAP Persona Value Discovery function.
2. Major update to the Analytics workstream:
a. Added two new tasks task Self-Enable on SAP S/4HANA Cloud Embedded
Analytics and Self-Enable on My Fiori Apps Reference Library for
Embedded Analytics in the Prepare phase.
b. Tagged deliverable Fit-to-Standard Analysis Preparation with the
Analytics workstream tag.
c. Added the following tasks under Analytics Planning and Design:
i. Handover of Requirements to Analytics Expert
ii. Review Scope Items and Requirements for Embedded Analytics
iii. Determine Extensions of Reports
iv. Determine Details for Customer-Driven Analytics
v. Review and Customer Sign off for Analytics
d. Added an Analytics procedure note in the Fit-to-Standard Workshop
Execution task.
3. Added three (3) new blogs related to expert guided implementation.
a. Expert-Guided Implementation (EGI) - The Practical Training Option
in task Complete SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition Onboarding
Learning Courses.
b. SAP Blog - SAP Fiori Configuration for SAP S/4HANA - Expert Guided
Implementation in task Self-Enable on SAP Fiori for SAP S/4HANA.
c. SAP Blog - Learn How to Migrate Your Data to SAP S/4HANA With
SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit in task Self-Enable on SAP S/4HANA
Migration Cockpit.
4. Updated the URL of accelerator RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private
edition Onboarding to point to the latest course. The accelerator is available in
task Complete SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition Onboarding Learning
Courses.

June 05th (2023) Release Notes
1. The name of the accelerator API Hub has been updated to SAP Business
Accelerator Hub. This accelerator is utilized in various tasks, such as Define
Integrations and Optimize and Align Integration and Interface List.
2. Removed deliverable Setup Instructions for Customer Driven Integrations and
associated task Write Setup Instructions for Customer Driven Integrations. The
procedure and content from the remove deliverable and task were added to
tasks Setup Integrations in Development Landscape and Setup Integrations in
Quality Assurance Landscape.
3. Updated the title of deliverable RISE with SAP Adoption Framework to RISE
with SAP Adoption Framework and Entitlement Review.
4. Updated the title of task Review the RISE with SAP offering to Review the RISE
with SAP Entitlement and move the task from the Strategic Planning deliverable
to the RISE with SAP Adoption Framework and Entitlement Review.
5. Update task Define the Implementation Strategy. The high-level implementation
strategy task helps stakeholders and team members understand the overall
vision, goals, and objectives of the implementation project, covering important
workstreams such as: Technical Architecture and Infrastructure, Integration,
Testing, Analytics and Project Management. A new accelerator SAP Activate
Methodology High Level Planning - Implementation Strategy
Consideration was created to help the project team make informed decisions
throughout the implementation process.

May 22nd (2023) Release Notes

1. Revised a number of references from the SAP Best Practices Explorer to SAP
Signavio Process Navigator. This affects tasks, accelerator names, and
accelerator contents. Ongoing updates are planned for the upcoming release
sprint.
2. Significant enhancement to the Worksteam Operations and Support in the Run
Phase. The improvements include:
a. The addition of a new deliverable Service Management with a new task
Establish Service Management Framework. The existing task Access
SAP Support Service was moved and added to this new deliverable.
b. Updated task Perform Technical Performance and System availability.
The task has been renamed to Perform Technical Assessment and moved
to the Ongoing System Operations deliverable.
c. Added a new task Monitor the new System to deliverable Ongoing
System Operations. This new task focuses on the technical element of
system operations.

 d. Updated deliverable Governance Model with a new task Manage Change
Request and update to task Establish Governance Model.
e. Update to deliverable Incident and Problem management by
improving the task Manage Incident with updated procedure steps and
notes and adding new task Management Problem.
f. Update to deliverable Identify Innovation and Growth Opportunity
and its respective tasks Periodically Update your SAP System and Initiate
a new Innovation Cycle.
3. Added new task, Request Knowledge Assessment, under deliverable Customer
Team Enablement. This new task includes the highly recommended
Continuous Quality Check (CQC) service, which is a free service part of the SAP
S/4HANA Cloud, private edition contract.
4. Renamed deliverable, Development and Setup Extensions in the Development
and Quality System, to Extension Development in the Development and Quality
Systems to improve consistence with other deliverable names.
5. Removed task, Self-Enable on BTP Integration Suite in the Prepare phase.
6. Updated task, Self-Enable on SAP Business Technology Platform with new
content previously located in the removed task Self-Enable on BTP integration
Suite, including accelerators.
7. Renamed task Create Initial Analytics List to Create Initial Analytics List for SAP
S/4HANA Cloud.

March 29th (2023) Release Notes

1. Miscellaneous text refinement to several deliverables and tasks.
2. Enhanced the content on various accelerators.

February 27th (2023) Release Notes

1. New section added to the Overview section, to highlight the RISE with SAP
Adoption Framework. The SAP Activate Methodology Roadmap is closely linked
with and incorporates the SAP RISE Adoption Framework, which supports SAP’s
Customers and Partners in ensuring all activities critical for the success of the
RISE journey are completed.
2. Updated the RISE with SAP Adoption Framework tag search result to allow
filtering by deliverables which goes hand in had with the deliverables
highlighted in the Adoption framework. Customers can view individual tasks
and accelerator available under each respective deliverable, upon selecting the
tag and navigating to the deliverable.
3. Updated task Ensure Project Team Members Access to the SAP Support Portal,
SAP Best Practices Explorer, and SAP Customer Communities. The procedure
steps were simplified and updated. It is important to note that procedure step 2
refer to the SAP Universal ID. It will be the default authentication method of the

 future when logging into SAP sites and platforms. All new and existing users will
be expected to create an SAP Universal ID.

February 13th (2023) Release Notes

1. Updated accelerator Test Management Guide in task Create Test Strategy, to
help differentiate Testing between the different SAP S/4HANA Cloud offerings.
2. Renamed accelerator SAP S/4HANA Cloud Meet-the-Expert/E-Learning
Sessions to Blog – SAP Enterprise Support Learning Assets. This accelerator
can be found in task Create Self–Enablement Plan.
3. New accelerator created SAP S/4HANA Tutorial. This accelerator is available
in task Manage Content Design and Content Development in the Realize phase of
the Solution Adoption workstream.
4. Update to the Data Migration workstream. Changed the task title from
Determine the Required Master Data and Transactional Data for S/4HANA
Cloud to Determine the Required Master Data for S/4HANA Cloud. Updated the
description by removing references to transaction data.

January 25th (2023) Release Notes

1. Cosmetic changes based on various customer feedback we regularly receive.

2. Update to task Create Test Strategy and removed the Test Strategy Template
accelerator, that will be later updated to fit the SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private
edition.
