questions of 4 marks each with sub parts. The first two case
study questions have three sub parts (i), (ii), (iii) of marks 1,1,2
respectively. The third case study question has two sub parts of
2 marks each.]

Q36: In a park, an open tank is to be constructed using metal sheet with a


square base and vertical sides so that it contains 4000 cubic meter of
water.

i)If the edge of square is x meter and height of tank is y m then find the
correct relation in x and y.( 1 mark)
ii) Find the eqation for surface area of tank in terms of x and y .
(1 mark)
iii) When the surface area of tank is minimum then find x .(2 marks)

iii) Find the minimum surface area of tank (2 marks)

Q37: A doctor is to visit a patient. From the past experience, it is known that
he will come by a cab, metro, bike or by other means of transport are
respectively 0.3,0.2,0.1 and 0.4.The probability that he will be late are
0.25,0.3,0.35 and 0.1 if he comes by cab, metro, bike and other means
of transportation respectively.
Based on above information Answer the following questions.
(i) By which theorem, the probability of doctor comes late can
