READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS FIRST

The oral test will consist of the following two parts:

Part 1 – Planned Response


You will watch a short video clip and deliver a planned response of up to 2 minutes to a given prompt.

Part 2 – Spoken Interaction


You will engage in a discussion with the Examiners on a topic broadly related to the video clip.

You have 10 minutes of preparation time to watch the video clip and plan your response.

PART 1 – PLANNED RESPONSE

You will watch a video which shows people working as street artists.

As you watch the video, think about how you will respond to the following prompt.

Prompt:
Does making a living as a street artist or street performer appeal to you? Why or why not?

You can make notes on the paper provided and refer to them during the examination.
Your notes will not be assessed.
At the end of the examination, the notes must be handed in to the Examiners.

PART 2 – SPOKEN INTERACTION

You will engage in a discussion with the Examiners on a topic broadly related to the video clip. You will
not be asked any questions about what people say.

Permission to reproduce items where third-party owned material protected by copyright is included has been sought and cleared where possible. Every
reasonable effort has been made by the publisher (UCLES) to trace copyright holders, but if any items requiring clearance have unwittingly been included, the
publisher will be pleased to make amends at the earliest possible opportunity.

PART 1 – PLANNED RESPONSE

Candidates will watch a video which shows people working as street artists.

They will deliver a planned response of up to 2 minutes to the following prompt.

Prompt:
Does making a living as a street artist or street performer appeal to you? Why or why not?

Examiners must use all the prompts provided to invite candidates to give their responses and
consider different viewpoints where appropriate. Examiners should also pursue any points which
candidates may mention.

(a) Would your parents or other adults share your views about making a living as a street artist or
street performer? Why or why not?

(b) Would you say that the people in your country are interested in activities related to the arts, such
as visiting a museum or watching a play? Why do you say so?
