Symptoms And Treatment Of A Miracle Drug
TUESDAY This Tuesday is entirely different from the time I was born. Rather than
passing by without much happening, this Tuesday starts the beginning stages of
recovery. This Tuesday is the hangover as the result of Monday s poor decisions. As
the day passes, you begin to feel better, but it s a long, bumpy road ahead of you. On a
Tuesday there is a long wait until the much desired Friday and Saturday, but it s an
inevitable step in the right direction. I am twenty one and it is Tuesday. The
depression pills did not work as I had hoped they would. There is no such thing as a
miracle drug. After a month I refused to take them any longer. I felt like my pills were
controlling my life so I was also weaned off the bloodpressure medicine treating my
migraines. I only remained on the two medications I absolutely needed: Synthroid for
my Hashimoto s disease and omeprazole for my acid reflux. I felt like I was beginning
to take back control of my life. For some, this probably seems like a minute, irrelevant
change in a world of chaos. But for those who are forced to live by their medications,
especially at such a young age, this is a very large step in regaining freedom. I no longer
feel as though my doctors, doctor s appointments, medications, and medical testing
control my life. Another step toward full recovery has been finding new meaning in my
life since many of the old ones disappeared after high school. Without sports, I had to find
something else to consume my time. Both

Answer 1.
By comparing both the stocks, the riskiest stock in this case is Reynolds. It has the
highest return as well as higher standard deviation and the higher variance. If we
compare both stocks, Reynolds is riskier than Hasbro in this case. The higher variance
indicates higher chance that the actual return on Reynolds will deviate from the expected
return. S P 500

Basically, we can see that having a stock in a portfolio is better here as stock like
Reynolds, which was moving less than the market is now very close to the market
movement at .9974.
Furthermore, Hasbro which was moving above the market level is now moving almost
with the market at 1.0042.
*Please see the attached excel file for calculations.
Answer 4.
We can t figure out the riskiness of the stock by just looking at the expected return. In
the case of individual stock, Reynolds at 1.87 is giving a higher return compared to
Hasbro at 1.18. We wouldn t know the riskiness unless we look at the standard deviation
or the variance of the stock. By comparing the two, Reynolds has a higher variance and
standard deviation and will be more risky.
When combined with portfolio, we see the variance has changed. Reynolds, which was
more risky with higher variance individually, when combined with portfolio, has a lower
variance than Hasbro.
On the other hand, Hasbro, which had considerably less return and variance individually,
when combined in a portfolio, has more volatility, hence becoming more risky.
Answer 5.
Alex Sharpe should invest in Portfolio A, consisting of Reynolds and S P500. Portfolio
A gives higher return with lower risk. The standard deviation and the variance are both
lower for portfolio A which means

The Problem Of Democrats And Republicans Essay
I have chosen the topic concerning the inability of Democrats and Republicans to
properly reform the criminal justice system. This is an issue with nearly every topic
and this is the main cause of issues in the country. The debates and lack of agreeable
actions makes it seem nearly impossible for the country to change in positive ways in
timely manners. This issue is the biggest issue in the United States of America, because
it interferes with progress and reform. This is an integral part of why the current system
remains in a dysfunctional state. This issues is more urgent than the others topics
because if this issues is adequately addressed it has the potential to positively impact
recidivism, bias and disproportionate incarceration among minorities, relational impacts
for prisoners and many other issues. This will only happen if the political parties can
come to a moral understanding and reform the system to promote growth and
rehabilitation. The inability for the two parts to agree and implement positive
reformations is the biggest issue for the criminal justicesystem because the only way the
system will change is if there is agreeance for the need of reform.
The current system is based on mass incarceration which was meant to keep more
criminals off the streets and make the people feel safer. This approach has created more
instability and discrimination. Incarceration deepens existing inequalities and even
creates new inequalities... especially for African Americans
Gambling and Sports
Should Sports Gambling Be Legalized?
Gambling is a common practice throughout human history, one that appeals to the
individual s desire for gain and offers the thrill of risk or uncertainty. Sports gambling is
the wagering of money or other items of value on the outcome of a sporting event,
dependent either wholly or in part on chance (Thompson, 2008, p. 1). Sports gambling
generates billions of dollars annually, with large events like the Super Bowl or World
Series alone able to generate wagers in the billions of dollars. This research will explore
the arguments of those who oppose sports gambling and those who support it in order to
answer the question: Should sports gambling be legalized? There are many ... Show more

According to Thompson (2008), as of 2008 there were over 150 racetracks operating
in the U.S., with annual wagers on horse racing totaling more than $16 billion. Dog
racing is also legal in a number of states, but it is not as popular or widespread as horse
racing. Proponents of sports gambling maintain betting on such events generates
lucrative revenues, provides thousands of jobs, and offers sports bettors a means of
entertainment and a chance for gain. Despite these arguments, there are a number of
sound arguments put forth by those who remain staunchly opposed to legalizing
sports gambling in the U.S. One of the biggest reasons opponents of sports gambling
are opposed to wagering on sporting events is because of the potential for sports
gambling to result in fixed sporting events and ultimately undermining the integrity of
professional and amateur sports in the U.S. As Thompson (2008) explains, sports
gambling remains illegal and heavily regulated by the government because of the
potential for events to be fixed, or illegally influenced (using bribes or other forms of
compensation) (p. 2). It is not that difficult to see how this might happen, since
numerous sports gambling scandals have occurred in the past. The 1919 World Series
was fixed by Chicago White Sox players. Pete Rose was banned from baseball and
denied admittance to the Baseball Hall of Fame because of his admission to gambling on
sporting events while he
