MSc in Computer Science (Data Analytics) – Fall 2018

After getting acquainted with fundamentals of programming during high school, my interest
for the subject grew tremendously. The rapid advancements in technologies influence and
dominate our existence now and the field of Data Science offers a wide scope for continuous
evolvement and promise for our future. The future scope in this field has made me opt for
Masters in Computer Science - Data Analytics, not just for academic insights but a global
perspective on an international platform.

When I think about the different realms of science and technology, it is hard to think of a
domain that is going to change the world as much as advanced software will, in the decades
ahead. The ever increasing pace with which technology is growing these days makes me
believe that this field has penetrated into every small aspect of our lives, this to a large extent
inspired me to enroll myself in Information Technology as my major in Bachelors’ Degree.
This decision gave me ample opportunity to consolidate my creative energies and harness my
technical aptitude.

The first year of my undergraduate was about freshman courses which I was already familiar
with, however, in consequent years, the versatility and facile nature of Computers made it
even more interesting and really left me spellbound and enthralled. This solidified my interest
in Data Analytics and exposed me to the enormous potential of this developing field. As the
depth of studying about computers increased, it helps me to widen my background in various
concepts. I was introduced to basic programming languages of C and JAVA. I understood the
key features of each language and realized that one was an improvement of the other. Java
being the most powerful and robust language of all fascinated me the most. I have
successfully completed the course in “JAVA Application Developers” to broaden the scope of
my knowledge.

One of the earliest projects I worked on was “Fingerprint Based ATM System”. Currently
biometric technique, fingerprint identification system has received more attention due to
prolong history of fingerprints and its extensive use in forensics. The main objective of our
system is to make ATM transactions as secure as possible. It replaces conventional ATM
cards with fingerprint. My project was published in “Journal for Research” as a journal paper.

I have gained considerable knowledge of technologies like JAVA, HTML, Javascript, MY-
SQL, MongoDb, Angular 4, and Typescript. I had also participated in project competition
conducted by the Institute of Engineering & Technology. Apart from academics, I succeeded
throughout my college years in various fields. I have hosted the Technical Fest which
included a number of events. I was also the member of “Computer Society of India (CSI)”
and have attended workshops/seminars on ‘Ethical Hacking‘, ‘Evangelizing Internet Of
Things (IOT)’,’PC Assembling and Virtualization’ and ‘Ubuntu’.

I look forward to a career in research where I cannot only use my academic background to
achieve my research goals but also make original contributions to my field of interest. I
believe that graduate studies would provide me with the opportunities to attend advanced
courses and would be the stepping-stone to my career in research. The Master’s Program in
Computer Science – Data Analytics with special emphasis on C and FORTRAN
programming, Statistics & Probability; Data Visualisation and Case Studies in Data Analytics
from National University of Ireland, Galway is the perfect match for my career aspirations.

All of my experience has brought to light the inherent need of constant learning as well as the
necessity of innovation and I believe that I have now reached the stage here I must now
further enrich my knowledge. I believe that my serious intention for study, my projects, my
certifications and strong academic background in Information Technology will be beneficial
for my graduate studies and research. Completing my MSc in Computer Science (Data
Analytics) course from your prestigious institution would give me an opportunity to receive
high-level education under the guidance of prominent professors. I would regard my
admission to National University of Ireland, Galway not only as a great honor but also as a
great responsibility and challenge to prove myself.
