Q1.) Comprehend the passage and answer the questions below:- (Anshuman held the
plant in his hands and give it a tug - easy to do so):
1. What did the Father used to dig out the weed?
Ans.) The Father used implements to dig out the weed.
2. Which sentence in the passage tells us that Anshuman did not succeed in putting out the
weed plant?
Ans.) The sentence - “He pulled harder and harder but to know avail” tell us that Anshuman did
not succeed in putting out the weed plant.
3. Why couldn't Anshuman pull out the weed plant?
Ans.) Anshuman could not pull out the plant because its roots have gone too deep into the soil.
4. Why should we not develop bad habits?
Ans.) If we develop bad habits, we will spoil our character. We lose the love, respect and trust of
our near and dear ones.
5. List a few bad habits?
Ans.) Biting nails, getting up late, being untidy, disrespecting elders, speaking rudely, fighting with
everyone.

Ans.) Parents feel sorry when they cannot indulge their kid or when they have to scold them.

Ans.) Anshuman's parents refused to believe that he was letting those band habits get a hold of
him.

Ans.) Gentle words, strict warning now and then, his parents tried everything short of beating him
up.

Ans.) Wake up early in the morning, do your work yourself, respect elders, do not use abusive
words, not to beat others, wearing clean clothes, keeping nails short, etc
