Practical Task 1:

• Open the file Rio Olympics 2016 from the support files folder.

• Complete the table as shown below:

• In cell E2 enter a formula to calculate the total number of medals for United

States of America.

• Copy this formula for all countries.

• Fill the cell range A1:E1 with grey colour.

• For the cell range A1:A7 change the font to be Bold.

• Create a column chart that:

o shows the gold, silver, and bronze medals for all countries.

o make sure that the title of the chart is ‘Rio Olympics 2016’.

• Save your spreadsheet as ‘Rio Medals – your name’ in the support files folder.

Practical Task 2:

• Results from the first round of robot races have been recorded and saved in a

spreadsheet.

• Use the file Robot Race Data in the support files folder.

• Adjust the columns so that all the data is visible.

• Use a formula in cell E2 to calculate the average race time for Nuts and Bolts.

• Replicate the formula for the rest of the Average (seconds) column.

• Set the values in the Average (seconds) column to 2 decimal places.

• In cells C8 and D8, write a formula to calculate the MIN time of Race 2 and the

MIN time of Race 3.

• First-bots should not qualify for the next round. Delete this row from the

spreadsheet.

• Create a bar chart for the race times of Race 1 which includes the Team

Name.

• Label the axes as Team Name and Race Time.

• Insert a new row above row 1.

• Add the text ‘Robot Race Results’ to cell A1.

• Format the text in row 1, row 2 and column A so that they are bold.

• Save your spreadsheet as ‘Robot Race Data – your name’ in the support files

folder.

Practical Task 3:

• You are asked to plan the budget for buying the fire system.

• Use the file Budget Plan in the support files folder.

• Adjust the rows and the columns so that all the data is visible.

• In F2, write a formula to calculate the total price.

• Copy the formula down from F2 to F6.

• For the range A2 to A6, use a suitable feature to fill the range with numbers

from 1 to 5.

• In G2, display a 20% discount for all prices.

• Copy the formula down from G2 to G6.

• In H2, write a formula to calculate the Discount value.

• Copy the formula down from H3 to H6.

• In I2, write a formula to calculate the Pay amount.

• In I2, write a formula to round the value up to a whole number.

• Insert a column chart to compare the total price and pay amount for each

model.

• The chart must have the title “Price Comparison”.

• Find the model with the highest total price, write the text “Best model is” in I8

folder.

Practical Task 4:

• You are asked to edit a data file about network prices.

• Use the file Network Prices in the support files folder.

• Correct the error in the data about computers, it should look like this.

• In cell D3 use a formula to correctly calculate the total cost of computers.

• Copy this formula to calculate all the total costs.

• In cell D11 use a formula to correctly calculate the Total.

• In cell D12 use a formula to correctly calculate 10% of the Total.

• In cell D13 use a formula to add the Total to the Setup.

• Create a pie chart using Column A and Total Cost to show the costing.

• The chart must have the title “Network Costs”.

• Save your spreadsheet as ‘Network Prices – your name’ in the support files
folder.
