Task 1 – Evidence Document
• Make sure your name, Centre number and Class & Roll No will appear on every page of your
Evidence Document by placing these details in the header.
• Save this Evidence Document, as a word processed document, in your work area as
P3evidence followed by your Class & Roll No. For example,P3evidence10A01
You will need your Evidence Document during the examination to enter answers to questions
and to place your screenshots in when required.
Task 2 – Spreadsheet
You are going to prepare an income tax calculator for the Sterling Wilson firm in a spreadsheet.
Format all currency values in rupees upto 2 decimal places.
On the centre in the header add your Full Name, Centre No & Class-Div and Roll No
On the right in the footer, add the automated file name and path.
On the left in the footer, add Page No: followed by automated page number [2]
Format the text so as to make it 26 point bold serif font aligned in the centre. [2]

4. Make the text in cells A2, A5-G5, bold centre aligned and 12 points high [1]
5. The employee category has to be extracted from the employee code. The fourth character of
the employee code tells the category.
In cell C6 use a function to extract the employee category from the Emp_Code field.
Replicate the formula to lookup for all categories. [4]
6. The employee categories M, F, and S stand for Male, Female and Senior Citizens.
The tax-deduction-calculation for each category is given in the table below:
For Men
Salary Upto Rs. 200000 0
Rs. 200001 to Rs. 500000 5% of income exceeding 200000
Above Rs. 500001 12500 + 20% of income exceeding 500000
For Women
Salary Upto Rs. 250000 0
Rs. 250001 to Rs. 500000 5% of income exceeding 250000
Above Rs. 500001 12500 + 20% of income exceeding 500000
For Senior Citizens
Salary Upto Rs. 350000 0
Rs. 350001 to Rs. 500000 5% of income exceeding 300000
Above Rs. 500001 12500 + 20% of income exceeding 500000
In cell E6, enter a function to calculate the tax considering each category as per the
calculations given in the table above.
Replicate the function for all employees. [15]
7. In cell F6, enter a function to calculate the Educational Cess on the calculated tax. The cell B3
specifies the cess%.
This function must include both absolute and relative referencing.
Replicate the function for all employees. [2]
8. In cell G6, enter a function to calculate the Total Tax by adding the Edu Cess to calculated tax.

9. Hide columns A, B, D & E
Print the spreadsheet showing the formulae used. Make sure:
° it is in portrait orientation
° gridlines and row & column headings are displayed
° only rows 1-30 are visible
° the contents of these cells and formulas are fully visible and fit on one page. [2]
10. Unhide all columns.
Filter the data to display all the employees who have to pay income tax.

11. Sort this data into ascending order of category, then descending order of tax payable.

Create a stacked vertical bar chart comparing the different countries with the quantity of gold,

Task 4 – Images
• Resize the image to make it 1000 pixels wide keeping the aspect ratio maintained. [1]
• Paste screenshot of how you resized the image in your evidence document.
• Reduce the resolution of the image without altering its dimensions, so as to make the file size
less than 200 KB. [1]
