Grade 10 - Different Landforms
Grade 10 - Different Landforms
The students will create materials that can promote and ensure disaster preparedness during earthquake,
tsunamis, and volcanic eruptions.
A. Explore
Day 1
1. Begin with a brief discussion about what students already know about landforms.
2. Write their responses on the board.
3. Introduce the lesson objective: to learn about different landforms and the processes that shape
them.
Activity 1: Landform Identification
1. Display pictures or diagrams of various landforms (mountains, valleys, plains, plateaus, etc.) on
the board or through a multimedia presentation.
2. Discuss each landform, asking students to identify and describe them based on their visual
characteristics.
3. Encourage class participation by asking questions and facilitating a brief discussion for each
landform.
Day 2
Activity 2: Processes of Landform Formation
1. Introduce the key processes involved in landform formation: erosion, deposition, weathering, and
tectonic activity.
2. Discuss each process, providing examples and explaining how they contribute to the creation of
different landforms.
3. Use visual aids such as diagrams, video clips, or animations to enhance understanding.
4. Facilitate a class discussion on the significance of these processes in shaping the Earth's
surface.
Day 3
1. Present case studies of specific regions or landforms, detailing the processes that have
influenced their formation.
2. Discuss how human activities may impact these landforms and the importance of conservation
efforts.
B. FIRM UP
Day 4
1. Assign a worksheet or activity where students apply their knowledge of the Earth's internal
structure.
2. This could involve analyzing earthquake data, researching volcanic activity, or discussing the
impact of tectonic plate movement.
3. Provide guidance and support as students work on the activity.
C. DEEPEN
Day 5
1. Summarize the key points discussed during the lesson.
2. Conduct a brief review quiz or discussion to reinforce learning.
3. Assign homework or additional readings related to landforms for further exploration.
4. Evaluate student understanding through class participation, responses to questions, and
completion of the review quiz.
5. Review any homework assignments to gauge individual comprehension.
IV. ASSESSMENT
1. Formative
2. Summative
