Additional Information
• The survey comes ahead of the fourth Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC4)
meeting for a legally binding Global Plastics Treaty to be held in Ottawa, Canada in April
2024.
• Greenpeace is demanding that Global Plastics Treaty cuts total plastic production by at
least 75% (From a 2019 baseline) by 2040 to protect biodiversity and ensure that global
temperatures stay below 1.5° C.

• Threshold Premium Concept: Regulations
introduce a concept of "threshold premium" for
non-linked products, which are insurance policies
not tied to market investments.
o Premiums paid up to this threshold will incur a
surrender charge of 35% on the accumulated
premium until the point of surrender.
o However, any premium paid beyond this
threshold will not be subject to surrender
charges, irrespective of when the policy is
surrendered.
