b. explain the importance of the 4M’s of operations in all business opportunities, and
c. apply the 4Ms in business production.

C. ANALYSIS DISCUSSION OF CONCEPTS (EXPLORE) *Applied

3 Elements of Manufacturing:
1. Input – materials to be used in creating the product.
2. Process – the transformation phase where inputs are processed by
manpower and machines to come up with the final output.
3.Output – the final product of the process stage, which is intended to be
sold to target customers.
Material includes
• Information
• Raw materials
• Consumables
• Quality
Sourcing raw materials is critical in any business endeavor as the
businessman would want to have the cheapest possible at the highest
quality.
Factors in selecting materials:
1. Cost
2. Quality
3. Availability
4. Credibility of suppliers
5. Waste that the raw materials may produce
