Q1) Find the positive roots of √(3x²+6) =9

Q2) If x= 2 and x= 3 are the solutions of the equation 3x² –2mx + 2n = 0 . Find the value of m and n.

half an hour less for the journey. Find the original speed of the train.
Q29)A plane covers a distance of 1200km at uniform speed. Had the speed been 100km/hr more , it takes
1hour less for the journey. Find its original speed.

Q30) An aeroplane left 40min late due to heavy rain and in order to reach its destination 1600km away in time,
it had to increase its speed by 400km/hr from its original speed. Find the speed of the aeroplane.
Q31) A passenger train takes 3hours less for a journey of 360km , if it’s speed is increased by 10km/hr from its
usual speed. What is its usual speed?

Q32) A train travel at a certain average speed for a distance of 63km and then travels a distance of 72km at an
average speed of 6km/hr more than its original speed. If it takes 3hours to complete the total journey. What is
its original average speed?
Q33) A motor boat whose speed is 18km in still water takes 1 hour more to go 48km upstream than to return
downstream to the same spot. Find the speed of the stream.

Q34) A motor boat whose speed is 20km/hr in still water, takes 1 hour more to go 48km upstream than to
return downstream to the same spot. Find the speed of the stream.
Q35) ₹9000 were divided equally among a certain number of person. Had there been 20 more person, each
would have got ₹160 less . Find the original number of person.

Q36) If the price of a book is reduced by ₹5 , a person can buy 5 more books for ₹300. Find the original list
price of a book.
Q37) Some students planned a picnic. The total budget for food was ₹2000 . But 5 students failed to attained
the picnic and thus the cost of food for each member increased by ₹20 . How many students attended the
picnic and how much did each student pay for the food.
Q38) Determine the value of p for which 9y² –24y +p = 0 has equal roots.
Q39) If the quadratic equation x² +4x +k =0 , has real and distinct roots , find the value of k
Q40) A natural number , when increased by 12, becomes equal to 160 times it’s reciprocal. Find the number.
