Commerical Pilot Exam Notes:

Practical Test (Total Time 1.7 hours)


• Plan a cross country from M01 to KFSM (Nav log, Weather briefing, Weight &
Balance, takeoff performance, landing performance, print out Air NAV pages for
airports M01/KFSM)
• Normal take off
• Contact Memphis approach for VFR flight flowing block altitudes (You will worked
radios frequency used 119.1, 124.65, 124.15 122.7)
• Divert to McNelly Airport
• Steep turns Left and Right
• Slow Flight
• Chandelles Left and Right
• Lazy Eights
• Emergency Descent
• Power On/Off DPE will typical call for the break instead of the buffet
• Accelerated Stall
• Eights on pylons
• Engine out
• Normal landing
• Short Field take off & landing
• Go around
• Soft field take off and landing
• Power Off 180 landing

Oral Exam (Total Time 2.0 hours)

• Verify all log book endorsements are done


• Pay the DPE fee ($400)
• Small talk

CFI comments for certificate recommendations:

1. Be sure to get student on IACRA and Look at what they write on 8710: eg.
Usually use only one A/C, check the time requirements and training
requirements.

2. Read the PTS for the certificate or rating: there is a good checklist for the
applicant to follow.

3. Be sure the applicant has and knows his/her FTN.

4. Tab the applicants logbook with required training times and activities (eg. XC)

5. In general there are 4 Logbooks endorsements required for the Practical and
Written

a. Received required tng. Instrument.=3hours within 2 calendar months

b. Prepared for the knowledge test

c. Practical/oral test

d. Satisfactory knowledge of areas of deficiency in the knowledge test

6. Be sure the applicant has the A/C log books and can interpret them
