MEMORANDUM ‘The undersigned is directed to say that the Gouri Devi Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Durgapur authorities moved a proposal for revision of fee structure for the MBBS courses of 2021-2022 and fixation of fee structure of 2022-2023 before the Permanent Fee Structure Committee on 7" September 2022. In compliance of the |judgment and orders delivered by the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India dated 14-08-2003 in Writ Petition (Civil) No, 350 of 1993 (Islamic Academy of Education & another - VS. - State of Kamataka & ors), and the Judgment delivered on 12th August, 2005 in Civil Appeal $041 of 2005 (P.A. Inamdar & On. - vs. - State of Maharashtra & rs,), the proposal was duly placed before the permanent Fee Structure Committee, constituted in terms of this Department notification number No: HP/O/MER'T/1035/2D-05/2004 Dated: Kolkata, the 1* September 2008, to decide on the fee structure of private Medical/ Dental College(S) in this state headed by his Lordship Mr. Justice Jyotirmay Bhattacharya, retired Justice, Calcutta High Court. 1. The said Permanent Committee, in considering the propasal of revision of fee structure of MBBS courses made by the Gouti Devi Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Durgapur authority, including their representations tnd submissions made during the courses of hearing before the said Committee, made a final assessment and commenced the following fee structure for MBBS students of Gouri Devi Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Durgapur applicable for the sessions 2021-2022 and 2022-2023: No change in the existing fee structure for 2021-2022 session as per earlier memorandum dated 3% February 2022 bearing memo no HPIO/MERT/11S/ME/MISC-81-2019 For Gouri Devi | For MBBS seats to be filled up by the For MBBS seats to be filled up by the Institute of |__ State Quota through the rules of ‘Management Quota (NEET UG Qualified) ‘Medical Sciences | reservation as applicable (NEET UG and Hospital, Qualified) Durgapur ‘Academic 2022-2023, 72022-2023 Sessions Tuition Fee per 2,74,000, 10,94,000 Semester (Rs) ‘Admission fee 30,000 50,000 (Rs) Caution Money 15,000 15,000 (refundable) (Rs) The Committee recommended that the proposed fee structure would be applicable to the new entrants fom 2022- 2023 onwards. 6\ 2. The undersigned is directed by order of the Governor to say that the Governor has been pleased to accept the recommendations of the aforesaid Permanent Committee, and accordingly said the following fee structure for MBBS students of Gouri Devi Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Durgapur as mentioned in table above, subject tothe conditions that: (@). In terms of the judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, the fee so fixed by the Committee shall be binding for a period of 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 (b). In terms of the judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, Gouri Devi Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Durgapur cannot charge either directly or indirectly any other amount over and above the amount fixed as fees by the Fee Structure Committee, There shall not be any profiteering or charging of capitation fees. If any other amount is charged or collected under any head or guise e.g. donations, the same put amount to charging of capitation fees, which will be a clear violation of the orders of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India. 3. The Gouri Devi Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Durgapur authorities are accordingly directed to submit a compliance report in this regard and also furnish a report on the amount of fees collected under each head from different categories of students admitted there, in completion of the admission process.
