REPAIRS METHODOLOGY
Depending on the nature of the repairs needed, the SR division handles certain jobs in-house
through its own workshops. However, due to limited staffing, some repairs are outsourced to
subcontractors.
CONTRACTING
The SR division at KSEW outsources repairs to various subcontractors due to a lack of capability
and expertise within the organization. This work includes services provided by OEM
representatives as well. Subcontractors are selected through a tendering process in accordance
with the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority guidelines.
The first step in this process involves preparing a tender document that clearly outlines the
scope of work. An advertisement is then published in newspapers to invite interested parties to
participate in the tendering process.
Subcontractors interested in bidding on the project purchase the tender document and submit
their technical and commercial offers. The award is then granted to the most advantageous
bidder, who is subsequently issued an award letter.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
The project team is responsible for defining the scope of work and planning the project using MS
Project/Primavera. They coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure that the work is completed
within the specified time frame, utilizing both subcontractors and the shipyard's own workshops.
All activities are closely tracked and monitored in accordance with the latest project management
practices.
