PREFACE

It is with great enthusiasm and a sense of accomplishment that I

present this portfolio which document my journey and experiences during

my teaching internship period. This compilation of work serves as a

treatment to the dedication, learning and growth that I have undergone as

an aspiring educator.

Within the pages of this portfolio, I chronicle my memories,

invaluable learnings, and insightful reflections as teacher intern at Bangao

Elementary School, Ambuklao, Bokod, Benguet during the academic year

2023-2024. It encapsulates my three-month immersion in the dynamic

field of early childhood education at Bangao Elementary School.

This portfoliio is divided into distinct sections, offering a

comprehensive overview of my journey as an aspiring educator. The first

section unveils my personal story, encompassing my autobiography,

motivations for pursuing a teaching career, my teaching philosophy, and

unwavering commitment to the noble profession of teaching.

In the second section, delves into the learning environments that

have fostered my development. We'll explore the diverse settings,

methodologies, and influences that have shaped my skills and knowledge.

The third section vividly showcase my actual teaching experiences.

Embedded in this section the meticulously crafted lesson plans,

accompanied by detailed rating sheets and constructive feedback from my

cooperating teachers. These invaluable assessments provide a holistic

perspective on my teaching effectiveness in planning, delivering, and

reflecting upon engaging lessons for my pupils. Additionally, photo

documentation captures the essence of my classroom demonstrations,

allowing you to witness firsthand my passion for fostering a vibrant

learning environment.

The concluding section of this portfolio proudly showcases my

active participation in extracurricular activities at Bangao Elementary

School. Alongside detailed descriptions of these enriching experiences, I

reflect on the profound takeaways I have gained from each involvement.

These reflections underscore my dedication to holistic development,

extending beyond the confines of the classroom.

My rationale for the teaching internship appears to be a

combination of professional development, career exploration, and a

commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for my future

students. I actively participated in the internship to gain valuable

experience, solidify my passion for teaching, and refine my skills to

become a successful educator.

Field Study 1 and Field Study 2 in a teaching internship program

offer distinct stepping stones for aspiring educators. Field Study 1 serves

as an introductory phase, immersing you in the classroom environment.

Here, you'll primarily observe experienced teachers, assist with routine

tasks, and interact with students in a non-instructional way. This initial

stage builds a foundational understanding of classroom dynamics, student

behavior, and the various roles teachers play.

In contrast, Field Study 2 elevates your role from observer to active

participant. You'll gain hands-on experience by co-teaching lessons,

planning and delivering smaller parts of the instruction, and creating

teaching materials. This increased responsibility allows you to refine your

teaching skills, delve deeper into curriculum development, and build

confidence in managing a classroom. Essentially, Field Study 1 lays the

groundwork, while Field Study 2 empowers you to put that knowledge into

practice.

This portfolio acts as a roadmap for aspiring educators like yourself.

By delving into the pre-service teacher's internship journey, you'll gain

valuable insights into the realities of classroom life. This portfolio offers a

realistic glimpse into student behavior, classroom dynamics, and the

teacher's multifaceted role. More importantly, it showcases the intern's

development of essential teaching skills. From co-created lesson plans to

reflections on differentiation strategies, you'll discover practical

approaches to planning engaging instruction and catering to diverse

learners.

This portfolio also emphasizes the importance of self-reflection. The

intern's honest reflections on strengths, weaknesses, and areas for growth

serve as a model for your own teaching journey. By witnessing this

reflective practice, you'll be encouraged to analyze your own experiences

and continuously improve your teaching skills. Furthermore, the portfolio

might showcase the intern's developing teaching philosophy. This can

inspire you to explore your own educational beliefs and create a

philosophy that guides your approach to teaching. In essence, this

portfolio is a treasure trove of practical guidance, honest reflections, and

inspiring examples to help you navigate your path towards becoming a

successful educator.
