Daily Routine (5 Minutes) “Good morning, Mr. Dayrit”

Good morning class! In the name of the Father…Amen
Let’s PRAY first, Thank you, sir!

The teacher will ask the class The class monitor will give updates

presenting the new
lesson Review: Arithmetic Sequence
The learners will answer the Activity below:
Sir,
1. Not
2. Yes, -2
3. Yes, 1
4. Yes, -5
5. Not

B. Establishing a

purpose for the
lesson
The teacher will discuss the Gauss-
Pattern: The "Gauss pattern" typically
refers to the arithmetic
sequence that Carl Friedrich
Gauss famously summed as a
child. Here’s how it works:
Gauss's Sum Pattern
When Gauss was a young
student, he discovered a quick
way to sum the first nnn
positive integers. The pattern
he identified is:
• Pattern: To find the
sum of the first nnn
natural numbers (1, 2,
3, ..., nnn), you pair the
numbers in such a way
that each pair adds up
to the same total.
For example, to sum the
numbers from 1 to 100:
• Pairing the numbers
from the beginning and
end: (1 + 100), (2 + 99),
(3 + 98), ..., each pair
sums to 101.

Gauss's method shows the

efficiency of finding the sum of
a series by recognizing and
leveraging patterns.

C. Presenting TEACHER’S ACTIVITY LEARNERS’ ACTIVITY

examples/instances
of the new lesson In relation to the Gauss Pattern, the
teacher will present the Arithmetic
Series:

D. Discussing new

concepts
The teacher will discuss the following
examples:

EXPERIENTIAL AND INTERACTIVE ENGAGEMENT

E. Continuation of the
TEACHER’S ACTIVITY LEARNERS’ ACTIVITY
discussion of the
new concepts The teacher will continue the discussion Sir,
with problems involving arithmetic series:

a10=240000+(10−1)20000
=240000+180000
a10=420000

applications of
concepts and skills
in daily living Sir, in arithmetic sequences
based on real-life situations
can make the concept more
relatable and engaging. Here
are a few examples to inspire
them:

❖ Saving Money:

Situation: A student decides to

save P5 each week.
Arithmetic Sequence: P5, P10,
P15, P20, P25, ...
Pattern: The amount saved
each week increases by P5.
❖ Weekly Allowance:

Situation: A child receives a

weekly allowance of P20, with
The learners will be encouraged to give an increase of P10 each week.
their own arithmetic sequence using any Arithmetic Sequence: P20,
situations applicable to them. P30, P40, P50, P60, ...
Pattern: The allowance
increases by P1 each week.
❖ Books Read:

Situation: A student reads 2

more books each month than
the previous month.
Arithmetic Sequence: 1, 3, 5,
7, 9, ...
Pattern: The number of books
read increases by 2 each
month.
❖ Classroom Seating:

Situation: Each row in a

classroom has 4 more seats
than the previous row.
Arithmetic Sequence: 5, 9, 13,
17, 21, ...
Pattern: The number of seats
in each row increases by 4.
