Webathon: Final Round

Date: 8th August 2024


Place: M.H. Saboo Siddik College of Engineering

The prestigious Webathon 2024, a national-level web development hackathon


organized by the ACM-MHSSCE Chapter, culminated in an exciting final round at M.H.
Saboo Siddik College of Engineering. The event brought together the top 20 teams from
across the country to compete and showcase their innovative web development skills
in a highly competitive environment.

The Judging Round Commencing

Participants began arriving at the college campus at 8 a.m., ready for the intense
day ahead. The competition officially kicked off at 11 a.m. in the Alma Latifi Hall, where
the ACM committee welcomed the participants and guests. The atmosphere was
charged with excitement as the final round got underway, with teams presenting their
web projects to a panel of distinguished judges.

The judging panel consisted of esteemed faculty members Dr. Nazneen Pendhari
and Dr. Irfan Landge, along with industry experts Mr. Max Johnson from Oracle and Mr.
Sandeep Deshmane, CEO of IRT Technologies. The judges meticulously assessed each
team's project based on various criteria, ensuring a fair and comprehensive evaluation
of the innovative web solutions presented. The event also welcomed volunteers and
staff from Matoshree College of Engineering & Research Centre, Nashik, who played a
key role in assisting the organizers and contributing to the overall success of the event.

As the final round progressed, the judges, including two esteemed faculty
members from our college, Dr. Nazneen Pendhari and Dr. Irfan Landge, along with Mr.
Max Johnson from Oracle and Mr. Sandeep Deshmane, the CEO of IRT Technologies as
representatives from our sponsors, moved from team to team, meticulously evaluating
each project. The panel of highly reputed and experienced judges assessed the projects
based on various criteria, ensuring a fair and comprehensive review of the innovative
web solutions presented by the top 20 teams.

By 1 p.m., the judges had completed their evaluations, and the participants
enjoyed a well-deserved lunch break before the concluding ceremony. At 3:30 p.m., the
ceremony commenced, hosted by ACM member Husain Vasanwala. The distinguished
Guests of Honor, including Padma Shri recipient Dr. Zahir Ishaque Kazi, Mr. Max Johnson
from Oracle, and Mr. Sandeep Deshmane, were introduced by Dr. Zainab Mirza and
felicitated for their contributions. Prof. Sanam Kazi presented a profile of Dr. Zahir
Ishaque Kazi, highlighting his significant achievements.

The ceremony continued with insightful speeches from Dr. Swati Bhavsar and Mr.
Sandeep Deshmane, who emphasized the importance of fostering innovation and
excellence through events like Webathon. The competition, designed to identify and
nurture exceptional talent in computer science and technology, saw a rigorous selection
process, starting with a preliminary round and culminating in this final round.
The much-anticipated awards were then announced, recognizing the top performers of
Webathon 2024:

for organizing impactful tech competitions.
