SERIES COMBINATION OF RESISTORS:
The combination of resistors in which resistors to be put in series with each
other.

In series combination:

Veq=V1+V2+V3

Req=R1+R1+R3

While current is same across all the resistors

EXPERIMENT:
First of all we take three resistors R1,R2 and R3 such that:

R1=1.1kΩ

R2=1.1kΩ

R3=1.1kΩ

Now we put these resistor in series on a bread board then we find equivalent
resistance through DMM which is equall to 3.3kΩ.

Now we apply a DC voltage source of 4.9v.

Then we measure voltage across resistor which give us following values:

V1=1.6v

V2=1.6v

V3=1.6v

R1=1.1kΩ R2=1.1kΩ R3=1.kΩ

V(dc)=4.9v

Then we find current through DMM by breaking the circuit which is connected
in series with the combination of resistors.

I=1.39mA

R1=1.1Ω R2=1.1Ω R3=1.1Ω

A
V Ammeter

Mathematically calculated value of current:

As we know from ohm’s Law:

I=V/R

By putting the values we:

I=4.9v/3300Ω

I=0.0014=1.4mA
CONCLUSION:

Calculated value of current=1.4mA

Measured value of current=1.39mA

PARALLEL COMBINATION OF RESISTORS:

The combination of resistors in which the resistors are connected in parallel.

In parallel combination the voltage across all the resistors will be same.

Such that: V1=V2=V3=Veq

While

1/Req=1/R1+1/R2+1/R3

And

I=V/Req

I1=V/R1

I2=V/R2

I3=V/R3

EXPERIMENT:
First of all We connect three resistors in parallel on a bread board.

Such that showing in the figure:

Such that:

R1=179.7

R2=181.5

R3=181.7

Req (calculated)=60.31

Req(measured)=61.2

So we measure the equivalent resistance through DMM which is equal to

61.2

Then we apply a DC voltage of 4.5v through DC Voltage source.

V=4.5

I1=V/R1=4.5/179.7=25mA

I2=V/R2=4.5/181.5=24.79mA

I3=V/R3=4.5/181.7=24.7mA

Then we calculate the current mathematically:

I=V/Req = 4.5/60.31=74.61mA

After mathematically calculation then we measured the value of current

through DMM
Such that:

For current calculation we break the circuit and connect dmm in series with
resistors on a bread board:

The current shown on the screen of DMM is 68.74mA

CONCLUSION:
Calculated current=74.61mA
Measured (DMM) current=68.7mA
