I. Communication Program
1. Running Environment
- IBM PC compatible
- CPU : Intel Pentium Processor 133MHz or higher (P-III recommended)
- RAM : 32MB or more (128MB recommended)
- Graphic Card: VGA or higher
- Operating System: MS Windows 2000, MS Windows XP
- Serial Communication Port: More than 1 port of 9 pins
- CDROM drive
- Hard disk memory 10MB or more

2. Program Running
1) Insert the MW-2000 Microwave Communication Program CD provided into the
CDROM drive.
2) Run MW-2000 Ver1.0(eng).exe included in the Setup Program directory.

II. MW-2000 Communication Test

1. H/W Installation
1) Install each component as shown in the system configuration below.
※ Note 1 : The distance between sender and receiver antennas is 1 meter.
※ Note 2 : 12 VDC adapter should be disconnected and power of FSK
modulator and FSK demodulator should be turned off.

2) Connect RF cable, SMA adaptor, antenna cable, power cable and RS232C
cable.

3) Insert 12 VDC adapter into 220VAC power receptacle and connect it’s output
to the jack of FSK modulator and FSK demodulator respectively.

4) Assure that there are no defects in system connection and setup and turn on
the power switch of FSK modulator and demodulator.

Result: Normal, if LEDs of FSK modulator, FSK demodulator and LNA, RF AMP
are lighted on.

In case of fault: Immediately turn off the power switch to analyze the reason of
fault.

2. Test Procedure
1) Run the communication program in the sender PC and set as follows:
- HOST TYPE : Sender
- Port : Port to which RS232C cable of the PC is connected (Select COM1)
- Baud : Select one of 4800, 9600 and 14400 (Select 4800)
- Parity : Select one of No parity, Even and Odd (Select NOPARITY)
- Click Connect -> The port is activated. Click Disconnect when the test is
completed.

2) Run the communication program in the receiver PC and set as follows:

- HOST TYPE : Receiver


- Port : Port to which RS232C cable of the PC is connected (Select COM1)
- Baud : Select one of 4800, 9600 and 14400 (Select 4800)
- Parity : Select one of No parity, Even and Odd (Select NOPARITY)
- Click Connect -> The port is activated. Click Disconnect when the test is
completed.

※ In the event of receive failure during test, do Disconnect and Connect in


the receiver PC in order to clear the receive buffer.

3) Enter “text” in the TEXT SEND window of the sender PC and press Enter.

Result: Normal, if the entered text is displayed in the TEXT RECEIVE window of
Receiver PC.

In case of fault: Analyze the reason of fault (device installation error, program
setting error)

4) Click Find in the FILE SEND/RECEIVE window of the Sender PC to choose a


file to be sent and click Send (Note: Recommended file size is below 100KB).

Result: Progress Bar is displayed on the Sender PC to show progress in transfer.


At the same time, a window showing arrival of file is displayed on the
Receiver PC.
Select a directory to save the file in the window of Receiver PC and enter the
filename to save. Progress bar indicating progress in saving is displayed
and the file is saved in the receiver PC.
* OK, if the above procedure is carried out normally

In case of fault: Analyze the reason of fault (device installation error, program
setting error)

5) Turn off the power switch of FSK modulator and FSK demodulator.

6) Disconnect 12VDC adaptor from the jack of FSK modulator and FSK
demodulator and from 220VAC.

7) Disconnect RS232C cable, power cable, antenna cable, RF cable and SMA
connector.
