Install Kali Linux from Scratch:

In VMware Workstation Pro Click on File>New Virtual Machine choose Installer disc image file
(iso): browse Kali-linux 2024.1 iso file and click Next.

Guest operating system choose Linux and version Debian 11.x 64-bit and click Next

Type the Virtual machine name and choose the installation location and click Next.

Specify Disk capacity in this case 80GB and select Store virtual disk as a single file click Next.

Click Customize Hardware.

Change Memory, processors Network Adapter and click Finish.

Click Power on this virtual machine.

Choose Graphical install and hit enter.

Select your preferred language. This will be used for both the setup process and once you are
using Kali Linux.

Specify your geographic location.

Select your keyboard layout.

Load installer components from installation media.

The setup will now probe your network interfaces, looks for a DHCP service, and then prompt
you to enter a hostname for your system. Entered kali as our hostname.

optionally provide a default domain name for this system to use

Next, create the user account for the system Full name, username and a strong password.

Next, set your time zone.

The installer will now probe your disks and offer you various choices, depending on the setup.
select Guided - the entire disk, as this is the single boot installation for Kali Linux

Select the disk to be partitioned.

Next, you’ll have one last chance to review your disk configuration before the installer makes
irreversible changes

The default selections will install a standard Kali Linux system and you don’t really have to
change anything here.

Next confirm to install the GRUB boot loader.

Select the hard drive to install the GRUB bootloader in (it does not by default select any drive).

Finally, click Continue to reboot into your new Kali Linux installation.

Login with the username and password you set
