1. Nouns
Words that name people, places, things, or ideas.
Examples:
1. The dog barks loudly in the yard.
2. Sarah went to the market to buy candy.
3. Freedom is valuable for everyone.
4. I parked my car near the entrance.
5. She read a beautiful story last night.
6. Mazar-i-Sharif is a nice city in Afghanistan.
2. Pronouns
Words that replace nouns and avoid repetition.
Examples:
1. Ahmad is very happy today, and he forgot his wallet in home.
2. Zahra is an intelligent painter, so she enjoys painting in her free time.
3. The weather was foggy, so it started to rain.
4. Jane and I have a meeting, and we meet in the restaurant.
5. My parents planned to go on a picnic, so they went last week.
6. The door was open, and I don’t know why.
3. Verbs
Words that express action or state of being.
Examples:
1. The children run across the playground every morning.
2. She is always on time for her classes.
3. He jumped over the puddle to keep his shoes dry.
4. My sister became a doctor after years of studying.
5. I love to write stories in my journal.
6. They sing beautifully in the choir.
4. Adjectives
Words that describe or modify nouns.
Examples:
1. She wore a beautiful dress to the party.
2. The quick fox jumped over the lazy dog.
3. My brother is very tall for his age.
4. The bright sun hurt my eyes.
5. We met a young artist at the gallery.
6. This book is very interesting and informative.
5. Adverbs
Words that modify verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs.
They often answer how, when, where, or to what extent.
Examples:
1. She sings beautifully ac concerts.
2. The runner moved quickly to the finish line.
3. I will see you tomorrow after work.
4. He stood here waiting for the bus.
5. They visit their grandparents often.
6. She solved the puzzle easily.
6. Prepositions
Words that show relationships between a noun (or pronoun) and other words in a
sentence, often indicating location, time, or direction.
Examples:
1. The is sleeping on the couch.
2. They walked across the bridge with each other.
3. I left the keys in my car.
4. We arrived at the airport early.
5. The treasure is buried under the tree.
6. She sits between her friends in class.
7. Conjunctions
Examples:
1. I wanted to go out, but it started raining.
2. She likes both tea and coffee of this cafe.
3. We can watch a movie, or we can go for a walk in the park.
4. I don’t know if he will come, nor do I care.
5. He forgot his umbrella, so he got wet.
6. She was tired, yet she kept working.
8. Interjections
Words that express strong emotions or sudden bursts of feeling, often, standing alone.
Examples:
1. Oh! I didn’t see you there.
2. Wow! That’s an incredible view!
3. Ouch! I just stubbed my toe.
4. Hey! Don’t leave without me.
5. Alas! The journey was over.
6. Oops! I dropped the glass.
