DESIGN REPORT
1.1. BACKGROUND
According to the regulations and standard practices outlined in the most recent Indian standards, it is intended that
the entire building be constructed for pertinent dead, live, and seismic pressures based on the architectural drawings.
Making sure that the designs adhere to relevant codes of practice and established practices is essential to
managing these epidemic effects. To ensure that the buildings remain safe and functional for the entirety
of their economic lives, it will also be satisfied that the building can safely withstand loads.

Columns
Live Load
As per IS:875 - Part 2, following live loads are considered:
Inaccessible Terrace = 0.75 kN/m2
Staircases = 3 kN/m2
Dead Load
Clear cover for Slab = 25 mm
2
Grade of concrete = 25 N/mm
Depth of Terrace slab = 125 mm
Average thickness of weathering course assumed = 115 mm
Thickness of plaster assumed = 10 mm
Dead load of Terrace slab = 0.125*25 = 3.125 KN/m2
Extra loads due to filling, surki , etc., if any = 0.115*20 = 2.3 KN/m2
Ceiling plaster load = 0.01*22 = 0.22 KN/m2
Dead load on Terrace slab = 3.125+2.3+0.22 KN/m2
= 5.645 KN/m2
