GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR REGISTRATION OF SEMINAR TITLE

1. The title shall be unique for each student. Therefore before going for mentor's approval on
seminar title, each student must ensure that no other student (across ECE) had registered same
or resembling title prior to them.
2. The Seminar title should not resemble any title those undertaken in preceding batch (i.e. senior
batch). To know about the titles of previous batch, students should check the list of previous batch
in Project Lab, whose copy will also be provided to respective mentors.
3. If any two students have selected the same titles or resembling titles, the student registering later
has to change his/her title.
4. Thereafter each student shall be required to submit an application with 'Approval of Title' duly
signed by their respective mentors to the technician of project lab, then only a student will be
considered as registered, which shall be finalized by head of department.

GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR SEMINAR REPORT SUBMISSION

1. Seminar report should be submitted in printed form with proper spiral binding under milky semi
translucent cover and blue back cover in two copies after obtaining signatures of mentor/supervisor.
2. Report of seminar need be prepared generally meeting the guidelines given below.

1. Preliminary pages (mention such pages as i, ii, iii ...):
 Inner Title page
 Certificate
 Acknowledgement
 Abstract
 Table of contents (Page wise Index)

2. The main body (pages 1, 2, 3...) be divided as follows:


The report shall be divided in a number of chapters. A chapter may be divided into sections each of
which has a section title (second-order heading). For example, in Chapter 1, the sections will be
numbered 1.1, 1.2, etc. preferably do not further subdivide a section.

Suggested division of report in chapters-


 Ch-1. Introduction (Approx. 5-8 pages)
The title of Chapter 1 shall be Introduction. It shall cover, justify, highlight the need, history/
evolution, problem posed, define the topic and explain the aim/objective and scope of the
study taken for seminar to be presented in the report.

 Ch-2. Literature Review (Approx. 4-8 pages)


It should cover the available literature in your given subject or chosen topic area. It documents
the state of the art with respect to the subject or topic you a.re writing about. It depicts the_
current implementations that draws the attention and focus on the fore knowledge work that
would be conducted based on the ongoing work in the subject during last 4to 5 years. It must be
clear and simple to understand. It should be supported by some diagrams/pictures (2 to 5).

 Ch-3. Coverage of ongoing research, testing, principles of current Technology, trends/State-


of-art (Student to evolve his own title of this chapter) (15-25 pages)
This chapter will cover main study around the topic. It may cover theory principles & amount of
success, trials-testing, trends etc. related to topic in a focused & specific way.

(Note: The appropriate information should be accompanied with pictorial representations, tabular
demonstrations, diagrams, flow charts, visible graphs, Images, any other representations and
depictions of the seminar, along with simulation results with good resolution and clarity.)

 Ch-4. Future/emerging trends, forecasting, summary etc. (Student to evolve his own title of
this chapter) (4-10 pages)
This chapter summarizes the whole report by highlighting all the chapters and their significance
and shall include a thorough evaluation of the study carried out and bring out the contribution,
limitations, advantages and disadvantages. The discussion shall include logical interferences and
conclusions.

 Appendix (Limited upto 10 pages) (It is a separate section in report)


The appendix of a seminar report can contain any other information and photograph which is
related to the seminar topic.

 References (1-2 pages)


All the source of information used for seminar report writing like books, journals, and websites
must be listed in this section covering name of article/book, author(s), page no. & date/year of
publications. At least 5 references of such citations be made in addition to other relevant
advance books, websites etc. In all their will be i0-20 items in this list.

Printing details of seminar report


 The dimension of the seminar report should be in A4 size. However more detailed diagram
may be drawn on A3 and folded.
 The seminar report should be spiral bound, top cover semi-translucent milky'and back blue.
 The general text shall be typed in the Font style 'Times New Roman' and Font size 12. Use
1.5 spacing between the regular text and quotations.
 CHAPTER HEADING - Times Roman 15 pts., bold print and all capitals. SECTION
HEADINGS - Times Roman 12 pts., bold print and all capitals SUBSECTION HEADINGS -
Times Roman 12 pts., bold print and leading capitals i.e. only first letter in each word should
be in capital Single line spacing should be used for typing the general text.
 Margins: 35 mm from the left edge of the paper, 25mm from the top, bottom and right edge
for A4 size paper, indicating page nos. in bottom center of page.
 Pages containing figures/pictures should be color printed
 All figures & tables shall be numbered & appropriately titled.
