V. Amita, Sneha, and Raghav start preparing cards for all persons of an old age home. In
order to complete one card, they take 10, 16 and 20 minutes respectively. If all of
them started together, after what time will they start preparing a new card together?
VI. Three bells toll at intervals of 12 minutes, 15 minutes and 18 minutes respectively. If
they start tolling together, after what time will they next toll together?
VII. There are 104 students in class X and 96 students in class IX in a school. In a house
examination, the students are to be evenly seated in parallel rows such that no two
adjacent rows are of the same class.
(a) Find the maximum number of parallel rows of each class for the seating
arrangement.
(b) Also, find the number of students of class IX and also of class X in a row.
(c) What is the objective of the school administration behind such an arrangement?
VIII. Find the zeroes of the quadratic polynomial 3x2 – 2 and verify the relationship
between the zeroes and the coefficients.
IX. If one zero of the quadratic polynomial f(x) = 4x2 – 8kx + 8x – 9 is negative of the
other, then find the zeroes of kx2 + 3kx + 2.
X. If the zeroes of the polynomial x2 + px + q are double in value to the zeroes of 2x2 –
5x – 3, find the value of p and q.
XI. If α and β are the zeros of the polynomial 2x2 – 5x + 7, then find a quadratic
polynomial whose zeros are (3α + 4β) and (4α + 3β).
XII. If the zeros of polynomial x3 – 3x2 + x +1 are (a-b), a, (a+b), then find a and b.
XIII. If α and β are zeroes of polynomial f(t)=t2 -4t+3. Find the value of
(a) α4 β3 + β4 α3 (b) α/β+ β/α
XIV. Find the value of k, for which the following equations will represent
coincident lines: 2x + k y= 7, 4x + 8y = 14.
XV. Draw the graph of 2x + y = 6 and 2x - y + 2 = 0.Shade the regionbounded by
these lines and x-axis. Find the area of the shaded region.
XVI. Draw the graph of 3x + y = 11 and x - y + 1 = 0.Shade the
region bounded by these lines and Y-axis. Find the area of
the shaded region .
XVII. Draw the graphs of the pair of equations x + 2y = 5 and 2x-3y = – 4. Also find the

XVIII. A part of monthly Hostel charge is fixed and the remaining depends
on the number of days one has taken food in the mess. When Swati
takes food for 20 days, she has to pay 13000 as hostel charges
whereas, Mansi who takes food for 25 days pays ? 3500 as hostel
charges. Find the fixed charges and the cost of food per day.
XIX. In a two digit number, the digit in the unit place is twice of the digit in the tenth place.
If the digits are reversed, the new number is 27 more than the given number. Find the
number.
XX. A woman has 60 notes in all of Rs 10 and Rs 20 denominations.lf the total worth of
the notes is Rs 850, find out how many notes of each kind does she have.
XXI. The annual incomes of A and B are in the ratio 3 : 4 and their expenditures are in the
ratio 5 : 7. If each saves Rs 15000 annually, find their annual incomes.
XXII. Solve the following quadratic equation for x: 9x2 – 6b2x – (a4 – b4) =0

peacocks were counted and it was found that there were 47 heads and 152 legs. Find
