Objective: To become familiar with the downloading and installation of Cisco Packet Tracer.
Step 1: Open Google and type Cisco Packet Tracer in the search bar. Click the version suitable for you
then the new tab will open.
Step 2: Click on the highlighted option and setup will start downloading.
Step 4: Here you can see that the backup of Cisco Packet Tracer has been downloaded, now you just
have to click on open and move to the next step.
Step 1: After opening backup, Click On Next. Step 3: Set the destination where you want
to install the program. Click Next to
continue the process.
Step 2: Select I accept the agreement. Click on Step 4: Confirming the folder.
Next.
Step 5: Create an icon. Click on Next. Step 7: The Installation process begins.
Objective: To become familiar with the connecting two PCs in Cisco Packet Tracer.

Acknowledgement that message has reached the destination, the cross signs on 2 Pcs show that
these were not the destination but Hub has send message/data to them as well.

Acknowledgement
Objective: To become familiar with the router configuration and opening router panel by
connecting multiple router with a PC.
Step 4: Now we will set a connection between router and PCs. We will select a Pc and connect it
with router by using a straight through wire and put it into routers Ethernet Port.
Step 5: Now we will set IP of router. Double click on router to open its settings.
Step 8: After pressing enter No Display because we have not set it. Now we will configure every PC
by selecting DHCP then it takes IP/Default gateway.
Step 11: Now if we go to the web browser option and enter IP and press enter it displays…..
Step 12: We will enter the password. By default, the username and password is admin.
Objective: To become familiar with the difference between Static and DHCP IP.
Step 1: Click on the Switches. Select the highlighted switch and paste it.
Without settings the switch will act as non-manageable means it will only connect pcs.
Step 6: The solution is we will make IP Dynamic. For this we will need DHCP Server/DHCP Service.
Step 10: Now we will paste other 2 PCs, and connect them and check
Step 12: For PC03, it shows DHCP failed because we allowed router to assign IPs to two devices only.

Scenario:
- 2 buildings 1 router
- In building 1 your PC is connected
- In building 2 your cousins PC is connected
Step 1: We will pick a router and 2 pcs and Step 2: We will change IP setting of
connect them via straight-through wire. both PCs to DHCP.
