WISC V
WISC V
The Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children - Fifth Edition (WISC-V) was administered to describe Xx’s
intellectual abilities compare to other students the same age. The WISC-V involves a set of activities (i.e.,
subtests) meant to represent five major areas of intelligence (i.e., indexes): Verbal Comprehension (VCI),
Visual Spatial (VSI), Fluid Reasoning (FRI), Working Memory (WMI), and Processing Speed. Select
subtests from each area are used to describe overall intelligence compared to peers (i.e., Full Scale IQ;
FSIQ). Although there are many factors that impact success at school, intelligence is one of the strongest
predictors of academic performance.
Performance on the WISC-V can be interpreted using the key below. Percentile ranks are also provided in
the score table, which describe Xx’s relative standing compared to other students (e.g., a percentile rank
of 50 would be higher than or equal to half of peers).
