Affected component:

Network Interface Controller (NIC)/Processor (PROC), Actuator Input-Output Processor (AIOP) and
Central Maintenance Computer (CMC) modules with Pentium II or Pentium M processors.

NOTE: This effectivity list includes the aircraft that originally have the affected component installed.
Since this component is a Line Replaceable Unit (LRU), refer to the fleet maintenance control
record and verify if the unit was replaced during routine maintenance.

In-production effectivity:

This bulletin does not affect any in-production aircraft.

B. CONCURRENT REQUIREMENTS

(1) For aircraft equipped with Head-up Guidance System (HGS), the Head-up Display (HUD)
Software version 811 or higher is required.

(2) For all aircraft, installation of Full-Authority Digital Electronic-Control (FADEC) software Version
5.40 or higher is required.

(3) For aircraft equipped with Digital Voice-Data Recorder (DVDR) Universal PN 1605-01-00 or PN
1605-00-00, and not yet upgraded to LOAD 25.8, the accomplishment of SB190LIN-31-0017 is
required at the same time of LOAD 25.9 installation.

C. REASON

(1) HISTORY

PRIMUS EPIC LOAD 25.9 delivers modifications and improvements for the systems, which
correct deviations found during the aircraft operation to improve the aircraft dispatch reliability
and operation.

(2) OBJECTIVE

Date: Jun 11, 2021 SB190LIN-31-0023

SERVICE BULLETIN
This Service Bulletin introduces PRIMUS EPIC software LOAD 25.9 PN PS7027709-00315.

(3) EXPECTED BENEFITS

PRIMUS EPIC LOAD 25.9 introduces improvements and corrections to several aircraft systems
as follows:

– Aeronautical Telecommunications Network (ATN) B1 Controller Pilot Datalink

Communication (CPDLC) general performance improvement;

– Flight Management System (FMS) fixes and improvements;

– Fix to prevent that the erroneous Flight Director (FD) shows in green for Altitude Select
(ASEL);

– Aileron System Monitoring improvement;

– Fix of uncommanded selections on Primary Flight Display (PFD) to prevent accidental

change of barometric correction, that can cause erroneous altitude indication for the two
pilots at the same time, which combined with a flight in instrument meteorological conditions
User: kgreer - Printed By myTechCare - May 23/22 - 17:25:27

can increase the pilot workload;

– Improvement of Angle of Attack (AOA) monitor robustness for transitory Angle of Attack
(AOA) miscompares to prevent that multiple messages related to Engine Indication and
Crew Alerting System (EICAS) are triggered during wake turbulence or gusty conditions,
which can result in reduced control of the aircraft, if together with a stall condition.

– Update of the Flight Management System (FMS) internal magnetic variation coefficients for
peak performance in 2025, as per U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
(NOAA) World Magnetic Model (WMM) 2020 release.

As featured in LOAD 25.5.0.1, 25.6, 25.7, and 25.8, LOAD 25.9 also has common software load
capability, which will allow its installation in aircraft equipped with Network Interface Controller
(NIC)/Processor (PROC), Actuator Input-Output Processor (AIOP) and Central Maintenance
Computer (CMC) Pentium II or Pentium M modules. Also, as previously introduced in LOAD 25.7,
PRIMUS EPIC LOAD 25.9 will also permit transmitting AHEAD data when the aircraft is on
ground (preflight phase).

NOTE: Pentium II Network Interface Controller (NIC)/Processor (PROC) modules are not
intermixable with Pentium M Network Interface Controller (NIC)/Processor (PROC)
modules, and Pentium II Actuator Input-Output Processor (AIOP) modules are not
intermixable with Pentium M Actuator Input-Output Processor (AIOP) modules.
The modification of Modular Avionics Unit (MAU) modules from Pentium II to Pentium M
is performed through the accomplishment of SB190LIN-31-0011.

As featured in LOAD 25.5.0.1, 25.6, 25.7, and 25.8, the Central Maintenance Computer (CMC)
modules Pentium II and Pentium M are interchangeable in LOAD 25.9. Refer to AIPC 45-45-01 -
CENTRAL MAINTENANCE COMPUTER MODULE.

(4) REVISION HISTORY

None.

D. DESCRIPTION

The modification presented in this bulletin consists of uploading PRIMUS EPIC LOAD 25.9 version and
doing the flight control system return-to-service test, to do the check of its functionality.

It is necessary to load the current and applicable databases as follows:
