HPFP 1113 MATHEMATICS II (STATISTICS & PRE-CALCULUS)

Background and Rationale


This course covers basic concepts in pre-calculus statistics, graphical presentation of
data, standard scores and normal distribution, descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing,
and inferential statistics.

Learning Outcomes

The main objectives of this course are to:


 Define basic statistics terms
 Solve word problems related to statistics
 Follow the steps in hypothesis accordingly
 Develop camaraderie in group works
 Draw conclusions
 Construct graphs based on available data
