A1- WORKING DRAWING - SETTING OUT PLAN


A Drafting Aspects ( 20% Marks)

1 Title of the drawing

4 Lines of Plot & Bungalow - thick & bold
5 Setback Lines - thin & dotted
6 Hierarchy of font heights
B Technical Aspects (70% marks)

1 Show the location of the Building Footprint Block or Setting Out Rectangle and dimensions of it from the
plot boundary outside edges

2 Nomenclate plot boundary with road/access indication, adjacent plots with sequential numbering and
proposed building

3 Show Plot Corners / Reference points / Base points

4 Show Origin Point / Start Point i.e. O (X,Y)


There should not be more than one origin in the drawing

Plan

C Presentation Aspects (10% Marks)

1 Show all dimensions of the plot and building block (including all offsets)

2 Show diagonals dimensions of the Building Footprint Block or Setting Out Rectangle (for confirming right
angle of corners)
3 Show all setback dimensions

A2 - WORKING DRAWING - CENTRE LINE PLAN


A Drafting Aspects ( 20% Marks)

1 Title of the drawing


2 Line Gradation
3 Elevation Lines - thin & bold
4 Section Lines - thick & bold
5 Centre Lines - thin, bold & dash-dotted
6 Hierarchy of font heights
B Technical Aspects (70% marks)

1 Show walls that are cut in section with material indication (material hatch)

2 Show elevation lines of PCC

3 Mention wall thicknesses of both internal & external foundation walls

4 Show Origin Point / Start Point indication as Origin (0,0)

5 Show Centre Line numbering as 1,2, 3,4...on X axis & A,B,C, D...on Y axis (starting from Origin Point)

6 Show Typical Section of Foundations (whether step foundation / strip foundation) for both internal &
external walls. This must be Detailed Sections showing the excavation pit and PCC with all relevant
dimensions and material specifications

7 Show Post / free standing Pier (circular, odd-shaped) as blown up details

8 Check that the diagonal dimensions of the Building Footprint Block match the diagonals indicated in
the S/O Plan
Also check that the Out-to-out dimensions of the Building Footprint Block match those indicated in
the S/O Plan

C Presentation Aspects (10% Marks)

1 Indicate 4 types of dimensions as elaborated below:

a. Running dimensions - c/c dimensions between centre lines on both axes

b. Cumulative dimensions - distance between the first and last centre line on each axis

c. Out to out dimensions - distance from start to end face on each axis (to corelate with Setting Out
Rectangle dimensions)

d. Diagonal dimensions - diagonal dimensions of Setting Out Rectangle

A3- WORKING DRAWING - GROUND FLOOR PLAN


A Drafting Aspects ( 20% Marks)

1 Title of the drawing


2 Line Gradation
Elevational Lines - thin & bold & Section Lines - thick & bold
3 Hierarchy of font heights
B Technical Aspects (70% marks)
1 Orientation of plan to be the same as in the S/O & C/L Plans. Show walls with material indication as
are seen in sections.
2 External dimensions: wall thickness + room length..till total plan width(x-axiz). Same dimensions to
be shown for vertical side(y-axiz). Above that give the total dimension of each side of plan, which
will relate to the dimensions in the S/O & C/L Plans.

3 Indicate doors, windows, ventilators, openings


4 Schedule to include Sr. No, Type & Material Specification, Size, Cill Level, No. of openings. Also the
legend must mention wall thicknesses and other symbols being used in the drawing.
5 Dimension of doors, windows to be from unfinished surfaces of internal walls.
6 Room Name, Room Dimensions or Area (if not rectangular), Level in metres.
7 Ramp -
Slope indication with arrow, slope ratio, start & end levels, railing/parapet wall with specifications,
landing - min. width same as ramp width. Also, length of ramp to be mentioned.

8 Stairs - Tread & Riser dimension, Tread numbering, up-down arrow, landing / midlanding width,
railing, parapet, planter wall indication with specification, staircase width.
9 Internal & External Plaster lines
10 Chajjas, roof projections in dotted, with applicable dimensions

11 Tile drop

12 Flooring material- Size, type, material, Start Point (SP), Use a different colour to indicate the
flooring tiles otherwise they add to the cacaphony of lines in the drawing.
13 Railing, parapet with specification
14 Sanitary fixtures in toilets with centre line dimensions from end walls or as applicable

15 Section lines.
16 Take load-bearing walls as 350mm minimum, in thickness.
C Presentation Aspects (10% Marks)

1 All dimensions in mm.


2 All necessary nomenclature.
3 Avoid using light colours like yellow/cyan to indicate anything. It is does not assist in making the
drawing readable.

A Drafting Aspects ( 20% Marks)
1 Flat roof:Parapet wall mention height & material (thickness will be same as load bearing wall
below)
2 Numbering of steps of staircase
3 Staircase tower - doors/windows

4 Thresh hold for terrace door

5 Locate Nahni Trap for Flat roof as discussed in class

6 Mention waterproofing material for flat roof part

7 Rain water down take pipes specification -


- material=UPVC/PVC
- diameter= 150 dia.
DP 1,DP2…..number of downtake pipes
8 OHWT: Dimension, material, Capacity ( Indicate the the Level of water Tank Position )
9 Rain water down take pipes: not to interfere with the opening.

10 Rain water down take pipes: Material, diameter

11 Show architectural features like fins, weathersheds etc. visible in plan.


12 Section line as shown in ground floor plan

13 Access to be indicated in plan to OHWT

14 If there are roofing tiles; mention type, colour, size.

15 Chajja projections below
