A USB flash drive can be used for loading the Software, Firmware, Configuration files, and Boot Image to the printer.
This is the only way to load the Boot Image and the loading of Configuration Files requires a loading program. For
Software and Firmware installation there are a couple options:
1. Extracting a software or firmware zip file directly to a formatted USB. This option is very strict and does not
allow the loading of a configuration file. This is also the only way to load a Boot Image.
2. Using a loader program. With the loader program it is possible to load a printers Software, Firmware, and
Configuration files at the same time, or any combination of the three.
If the USB is not FAT32, right click on the USB from Windows Explorer and click
on Format. From the format window that appears choose FAT32 from the File
system drop down menu. Under Format options, you can check Quick Format for a
quicker format although this is optional. Then Click Start to format.
