INTENDED AUDIENCE

The content of this document is designed to facilitate the users -managers,

supervisors and others of Gift Card PrestaShop Module. A step by step
instruction has been added to this document to help users to install the
module on PrestaShop.

As a safe practice always backup your files and database before installing
any module on PrestaShop. If you are looking for someone to install the
module we can do it for you as well. Just go to the following link and let

Installation Instructions

1. Log into PrestaShop administration panel, go to Modules → Click Add new module.

2. Select giftcard.zip which you downloaded and click upload this Module.

3. Scroll down and find Gift Card and click Install.

4. Clear Cache in Advance Parameters → Performance.

Use Cases:
1. Holiday Promotions

During holiday seasons like Christmas or Valentine's Day, a PrestaShop store can use the Gift
Card module to offer themed gift cards for customers. With customizable designs and
scheduled delivery, customers can easily purchase and send gift cards in advance, providing a
perfect last-minute gift solution. The flexible pricing options—fixed price, dropdown, or custom
range—ensure that customers can choose a value that fits their budget.

2. Birthday or Special Occasion Gifting

A customer may want to send a personalized gift card for someone’s birthday or anniversary.
Using the module, they can select from various card designs, add a custom message, and
schedule delivery for the special day. The ability to choose from multiple email templates
ensures that the card feels personal and special, enhancing the recipient's experience.

3. Corporate Gifting

Businesses can use the Gift Card module to purchase gift cards in bulk for employee rewards or
client appreciation. The store admin can easily generate multiple gift cards, track their usage,
and manage expiration dates. With the added "My Account" section, both purchased and
pending gift cards can be tracked efficiently, making it easier for companies to manage their
corporate gifting strategies.

User Guide

How to Configure the Module

At the back office, go to “Gift Cards”. You can go there from Modules > Module Manager > Gift
Cards. Click on Configure to continue.

Here you can do the following configurations:

General Settings

• Gift Voucher Code Prefix: Prefix will be used in gift voucher code (space and special
characters are not allowed. use underscore only.)
• Approval status for gift cards: Users will be able to access gift cards after the selected
order status is validated.

• Share on social media: Select which platforms user can share gift cards
• Enable Gift Card Video Upload: Allow users to upload and send video with gift card.
• Max Video Size Limit (MB): Enter the maximum file size limit for the uploaded video in
MB.

• Video Expiry (Days): Enter the number of days after which the video will expire, leave
empty or add 0 for a default value of 15 days.

• Remove abandoned gift cards from last "X" hours: Gift cards that have been added to
cart but not yet ordered for specific "X" hours, will be marked as abandoned gift cards

o Define settings and place this URL in crontab or call it manually daily to send
scheduled gift cards (Send to Someone) on specified dates (Mandatory).

o Define settings and place this URL in crontab or call it manually daily to flush
abandoned gift cards.

• Send voucher expiry mail before a specified interval: Enable to send voucher expirey
email and enter the time in hours for sending the email. Leave empty to set default time
of 24 hours

HOW TO ADD GIFT CARDS TO YOUR STORE

At the back office, go to Add Gift Card in the Gift Card Tab. Here you will find list of all the gift
cards on your store. Click on + button to add a new gift card.

Fill your Gift Product information here.

• Gift Card Name : Enter the name of this gift card.

• Gift Card Description: Enter general description for this gift card

• Gift Card Tags: Tags can be added in order to filter the gift cards on front end

• Gift Card Image : Upload gift card image.

• Card Type: Admin can create three types of gift card based on their value.

o Drop Down : Admin can select multiple card value i.e 50, 70, 100 etc.

o Fixed Price : Fixed value gift card.

o Range Type : Admin can select the range and user will be able to purchase the
gift card of any value between the range.

• Quantity: Option to add the quantity of gift cards

• Tax Rule: Select the Tax rule for this specific card

• Status: Enable to enable gift card

Now you have to provide gift voucher information in the Gift Voucher tab.

• Discount Type : Select the dicount type for this card

o Percent: Select to apply percentage based discount

o Amount: Select to apply amount based discount

• Voucher Tax: Option to include tax or not

• Apply Discount to: Option to apply discount to the whole order or specific product

• Discount Currency: Select the currency

• Coupon Code Length: Option to set the code length for coupon

• Coupon Code Type: Code type can be Numeric and Alphanumeric

• Validity Period: Option to add the validity period for this card

• Validity Type: It must be in days or month

• Free Shipping: Admin can allow free shipping for the order.

• Partial Use: Admin can allow partial usage, which means a new voucher will be created
with the remainder value.This will only be applicable if the voucher value is greater than
the total value of cart.

How to Manage Email Templates

At the back office, go to Email Templates. Here you will find list of all the templates. Click on +
button to add a new template.

Add the required information to add a new template. You need to add template in html format.
Here are the HTML variables with descriptions for the Gift Card module email template:

• {rec_name}: The recipient's name.

• {sender}: The sender's name who purchased the gift card.

• {gift_image}: The image of the selected gift card design.

• {giftcard_name}: The name of the gift card.

• {vcode}: The unique voucher or gift card code.

• {value}: The monetary value of the gift card.

• {quantity}: The quantity of gift cards purchased.

• {expire_date}: The expiration date of the gift card.

• {message}: The personalized message from the sender.

• {shop_name}: The name of your PrestaShop store.

• {shop_url}: The URL of your store.

• {shop_logo}: The logo image of your store.

These variables dynamically populate the email template with relevant information when the
gift card is sent.

Ordered Gift Cards

At the back office, go to Ordered Gift Cards. Here you will find the ordered gift cards with all the
details.

• Show Details: Admin can view the gift card details of the specific orders by clicking on
“Show Detail” button. Admin can send scheduled gift card manually as well from here.

• Order Detail: Admin can go to the order details from here.
