Regarding the airports to be used, the trainees should be familiar with them and a customization is highly
recommended. A list of airport prerequisites is given here below to ease this customization.
The selected airports should be suitable for:

- Gate operation and push back,

- Taxi with turns,
- Performance: Suitable to allow takeoff at max structural TOW, and landing in accordance with IFLD with
failures,
- Engine-Out at takeoff, EO SID,
- NPA (ideally two different approaches minimum, with at least a VOR one),
- Preferably RNAV (GNSS) approach, if applicable,
- PAPI (or visual approach guidance),
- Charts,
o
- 180 turn on the RWY,
- GPWS exercise,
- Scene classic, winter scene (e.g. contaminated runways),
- Suitable for ops training, if applicable (e.g. PRM, LAHSO, RNP AR, etc.),
- Airport suitable for specific system training, e.g. ADF, SLS etc., if applicable,
- Distance between airports selected should be suitable for LOFTs,
- For LOFT 1, 2 and 3, an air-distance of 150 nam is needed between the two airports,
- For LOFT 4, an air-distance of 250 nam is needed between the two airports,
- For LOFT 3, airports and weather should be compatible with cold weather operations,
- Missed approach with one engine out,
- Availability of simulator visuals and navigation databases.

The customization of these airports shall include the provision of the corresponding flight folders (e.g. technical
logbook extracts, deicing/anti icing form, MEL extracts, load-sheet, computerized flight plan, charts, weather
file, NOTAMS, RTOWs…)

• EVENTS IN FFS SESSIONS

Some events may be customized, in order to perform specific required trainings such as RNP approaches.
