VIII. Chairman Address and Declaring the Graduation Day open

The Chairman shall say,

“The Graduation of the College has been called to distribute the

degrees in various disciplines of the college upon the candidates, who
in the examination held for the purpose have been certified by Periyar
University, Salem to be worthy of the same”.

IX. Delivery of the Graduation Day Address by Chief Guests

Hon’ble Minister. R. Rajendran and Former Vice-chancellor

Dr. R.M. Kathiresan will deliver the Graduation Day address.

X. Presentation of Candidates and Distribution of Certificates

The Principal shall say, ”I invite Dr.R.Sathya, HOD/Mathematics to present

the rank holders and Doctoral Degree awardees”.

XI. Presentation in Absentia

The Principal shall say,
I invite Dr.G. Vijayaragavan to present the number of graduates
receiving the degree in absentia.
Dr.G. Vijayaragavan shall say,
“Under the laws of Periyar University, I present unto you “IN ABSENTIA” the
following number of candidates, who have been certified after examination
to be duly qualified to receive the Degrees from Periyar University in the
respective departments”.

XII. Administration of the Pledge by the Principal

The Principal shall say,

“All the Graduates, stand up please. I shall now administer the

pledge. Please repeat the pledge after me”.

The Principal shall now administer the following pledge,

“WE SHALL IN THOUGHT, WORD AND DEED EVER ENDEAVOUR TO BE

SCRUPULOUSLY HONEST IN THE DISCHARGE OF OUR DUTIES IN OUR
PROFESSION AND SHALL UPHOLD THE DIGNITY AND INTEGRITY OF
OUR PROFESSION AND THE HONOUR OF OUR UNIVERSITY”

“WE SHALL UPHOLD AND ADVANCE SOCIAL ORDER AND THE WELL-
BEING OF OUR FELLOW MEMBERS AND SHALL DEVOTE ALL OUR ENERGY
TO PROMOTE UNITY, INTEGRITY AND THE SECULAR IDEAL OF OUR
COUNTRY”.

The Principal shall also read,

“By virtue of the authority vested in me as the Principal of Sona

College of Arts and Science, I admit you to the several degrees
for which you have been declared qualified and in token whereof I
permit you to wear the academic robes ordained, as the insignia of
your degrees”.

XIII. Dissolution of the Graduation

As the proceedings conclude, the Principal shall say,

“I dissolve this Graduation Ceremony”.

XV. Procession retires to Sona Main Building Library

The Chief Guests, Vice-chairmen, Principal and the Heads of the

Departments shall retire in procession, in the mentioned order, to Sona
Main Building Computer Lab.

The graduates and the invitees shall remain standing until the procession
leaves the Graduation Hall.
