Introduction:

Welcome to Light-Weight BattleBots—a high-octane event where you Bash


the Bots! In this thrilling competition, teams will design and build their
own robots to battle in the arena. With a focus on design built, strategy,
and control, this event promises intense action as robots face off to prove
their supremacy. Get ready to witness skilful design and tactical prowess
as participants battle it out to see who will emerge victorious.

General Rules:
1.1 Team Composition:
 Teams shall consist of maximum 3 members.
 There is no age or class limit in this competition.
 All members must contribute to the design, construction, and
operation of the robot.

1.2 Robot Entry and Submission:


 Each team may submit one or more robots.
 Robots must be fully functional for a fight.
 Teams must register, submitting the required robot specifications
and team information before the competition.
 A technical inspection will be conducted before the competition to
ensure safety and compliance with specifications.

1.3 Match Format:


 The competition will follow a knockout format.
 Matches will be 1v1 battles with a maximum duration of 4 minutes.
 If no robot is immobilized within the time limit, the winner will be
decided based on judging criteria.
 In case of a tie, judges will review the match based on control,
aggression, and damage.

1.4 Arena Specifications:


 The arena will measure 16x16 feet.
 The floor will be made of durable material capable of withstanding
robot battles.
 Safety barriers will be installed to protect participants and
spectators.

 The arena will have entry and exit points for the robots.
 There will be no obstacles or hazards within the arena.

1.5 Time Limits and Round Structure:


 Each match will last 4 minutes, depending on the round and
schedule.
 If no winner is declared within the time limit, judges will score the
match based on control, damage, and aggression.
 In case of a draw, an additional round may be conducted, or the
judges will determine the winner based on performance.

1.6 Judging and Scoring Criteria:


 Damage: Visible damage inflicted on the opponent’s robot.
 Bonus Points:
o Pushing the opponent with the walls.
o Flipping the opponent’s robot.
o Striking the opponent with a weapon or wedge.
o Removing any part of the opponent’s robot.
 In case of a tie in points, the judges will decide based on overall
performance and strategy.
 A team can take a timeout of max 1 minute and only 1 timeout will
be given to a team in match.

1.7 Disqualification Criteria:


 Robots will be disqualified for:
o Exceeding weight limits.
o Using prohibited weapons (e.g., projectiles, fire).
o Failing the technical inspection.

Robot Specifications:
 Maximum robot weight: 20kg
 Any robot exceeding the weight limit shall receive heavy penalties.
Robots exceeding 20kgs will be disqualified.
 Dimensions must not exceed 18X18 inches.
 Robots more than 18X18 inches will receive penalties while robots
exceeding 20 inches shall be disqualified.
 Weight includes all components: body, weapons, and power source.

2.2 Power Source:


 Robots must use DC power supply only.
 Maximum allowable voltage: 36V.
 Teams may use batteries, capacitors, or other electrical power
sources.
 Combustion engines and explosive materials are prohibited.

2.3 Mobility:
 Robots can move using wheels or tracks.
 Flying robots are not allowed; all robots must remain grounded
during the match.
 Robots must be remote-controlled or fully autonomous.

2.4 Weapons and Armory:


 Allowed weapons include blades, cutters, flippers.
 Defender robots are also allowed in the competition. Winning
criteria for defender robots is similar to attacker robots.
 Weapons must be securely attached to the robot and must minimize
risk to participants.
 Explosives, or incendiary devices are strictly prohibited.

Safety Guidelines:
 All robots must pass a pre-match safety inspection.
 Teams must ensure that their robots do not pose a safety risk to
other participants or spectators.
 In case of malfunction, teams should immediately deactivate the
robot.

Penalties and Disqualification:


 Manual intervention during a match will result in immediate
disqualification.
 Robots that exceed weight limits or use illegal weapons will
be disqualified.
 Deviating from the arena or skipping required actions will
result in point deductions.
Judging Panel:
The judging panel will consist of experienced engineers and event
organizers. Their decisions on scoring and penalties are final.

 Registration Deadline: 25th December

 Competition Date: 28-29 December
