SQUARE ROOTS
Square root The square root of a number x is that number which when multiplied by itsel
gives x as the product.
We denote the square root of a number x by vx.

It is clear that in order to get a perfect square, one more 11 is required. 3 33
So, the given number should be multiplied by 11 to make the product a

perfect square.
EXAMPLE 7. Find the least square number divisible bu each one of 8, 9 and 10.
Solution The least number divisible by each one of 8. 9, 10 is their LCM. 28. 9, 10
4. 9, 5
Now, LCM of 8, 9, 10 = (2 x 4x9x5) =360.
By prime factorisation, we get 2360
2 180
360 = 2 x2× 2x3 x3x5 2 90
