Structure /Building Status Comments / Remarks NOTE

1. Inlet Works
1.1 Attend to concrete finishing in general; On going To be completed next week CJI call for inspection
1.2 Provide silt trap at the head of the works see comment It was discussed and approved in our final detailed design report that silt
trap is not recommended for our project, by reasons:
Silt is in suspension in wastewater and like the suspended organics
requires very still
conditions to settle, like primary settling tanks. In other words, if a big
enough facility will be
provided for effective silt removal the organics will also settle, which is
obviously undesirable for
biological treatment purposes.
• Silt can be removed by coagulation like in water treatment, but
organics will be removed
at the same time and with the same undesirable results.
• It is normal practice in wastewater treatment works to not separate
silt, but to keep it in
suspension and remove it together with sludge. In the case of Maun East
WWTW the silt
will go through the inlet works, be kept in suspension together with the
activated sludge
in the biological reactor and secondary settling tanks and will be
removed together with
the waste activated sludge in the sludge thickener.
Note: As discussed under the FOGG Removal Chamber, some silt may
possibly be removed with
the FOG matrix.
In addition, we visited Gallen vally and Moshupa WWTP, none of these
plants have silt trap system.
1.4 Paving under skips must be concrete; see comment Not necessary, the skips currently used are dumpsters (wheelbarrow-
like) that doesn’t need any truck to load it, rather it is being pushed to
the larger skip which is not situated on the inlet work
platform..Dumpster size is (1052L X 812W X 550H)mm
1.6 Complete installation of domestic sewage lift pumps and their associated power and Partially done To be completed on Friday 06th December 2024.

13.2 Provide access ramps into and out of the beds; On hold currently
15. Effluent Pump Station
Provide 90 degrees bend to inlet pipe and direct outlet pipe away from pumps; see comment it is designed as a gravity line from CCT to effluent ponds, we will not
anticipate any sudden peak flow causing water jet. So current design will
15.1 remain as it is.

15.3 Correct the installation of level sensor for ease of maintenance; Done call for inspection
15.4 Provide movable cover to avoid wind blown debris into the sump. see comment Note:All of our pumps are equipped with protective instrumentation to
safeguard against damage caused by debris. It is not practical to cover
the sump due to structure design is already considered for the current
set up. Unless then we cover all opening structure of the plant. Or else
the concern can not be 100% addressed.Note:All of our pumps are
equipped with protective instrumentation to safeguard against damage
caused by debris.
