About the Society
The Maharashtra Society of Agricultural Economics (MSAE) was established in the year 1987 among 4
State Agricultural universities of Maharashtra by Late Prof. H. B. Ulemale, Hon’ble Ex. Vice Chancellor,
PDKV, Akola. The purpose of the society shall be to advance the cause of Agriculture Economics. The
Society shall seek to achieve this purpose through promoting and encouraging fundamental studies and
research in the filed of Agricultural Economics and publishing annual journal named as “Maharashtra
Journal of Agricultural Economics”.
About The Department of Agricultural Economics, MPKV, Rahuri
The Department of Agricultural Economics has its origin as Economics Section at the College of
Agriculture, Pune established in the year 1925. After the establishment of Mahatma Phule Krishi
Vidyapeeth at Rahuri in 1969, the section culminated into a full-edged Department of Agricultural
Economics at the Central Campus, MPKV, Rahuri. The Department offers undergraduate and
postgraduate programs, equipping students with the knowledge and skills required to analyze and
address agricultural economic issues. Its curriculum integrates modern analytical tools, farm
management principles, agri-business management and policy analysis ensuring a comprehensive
understanding of the eld. Research is a cornerstone of the department's activities. It focuses on
cost of cultivation, market intelligence, impact assessments and resource use efciency. The
department actively collaborates with government bodies, international organizations and private
institutions to address the evolving economic challenges in agriculture. Through its extension
programs, it plays a vital role in disseminating information about efcient resource utilization, market
trends and economic impact of climate change. The Department is instrumental in driving informed
decision-making and fostering sustainable agricultural growth in Maharashtra.
About the Conference
The 25th (Silver Jubilee) National Conference of Maharashtra Society of Agriculture Economics, 2025 will
be organized at MPKV, Rahuri during 27-28th February, 2025. The main themes are,
Submission of abstract and full papers
The soft copy of abstract (300 words) and full article (Approx 10 pages - Size : A4, Font : Times New
Roman, Font Size : 12pt) should be mailed to msaempkv2024@gmail.com, the last date of submission
of abstract is 15th January, 2025, while full papers will be accepted till 31st January, 2025.

About Rahuri
Rahuri town is situated on Ahmednagar - Manmad State Highway on the banks of Mula River at a height
of about 1676 feet above sea level in Ahmednagar district in western Maharashtra, India. Rahuri has a
pleasant climate during February with temperature between 200C to 250C. Sai Baba Temple at Shirdi,
Shanishinganapur at Sonai and Ajanta-Ellora caves at Aurangabad are nationally and internationally
