Staff Notation
Staff notation is the written music, when we write music in a sheet. It is also known as sheet
music. (example given below)
Staff: It is the 5 lines and the 4 spaces on which we write the notes
The middle line (3rd line) of the staff helps in determining the placement of the note head in
the staff.
If is note is placed below the middle line (3rd line) then the note head will be placed on the
left bottom side. It will be a low pitched note.
If is note is placed above the middle line (3rd line) then the note head will be placed on the
Right Top side. It will be a high pitched note.
As the note keeps on moving up the staff the pitch of the note keeps on increasing and as
the note keeps moving down the staff the pitch of the note keeps on decreasing.
Time Signature
Bars are the parts that the staff is divided into, it tells you about the recurring beats.
Bars are divided with the help of a vertical line called bar lines. There are different types of
bar line mentioned above in the picture.
