INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATE:

1. This paper has two sections: A and B.


2. Attempt questions in each section as per instructions given in the section.
3. You are provided with a separate answer booklet.
4. Answer all questions in the answer booklet.
5. Marks for each question are as indicated.
6. Do not write on the question paper.

This paper consists of FOUR (4) printed pages.


Candidates should check the question paper to ascertain that all pages are
printed as indicated and that no questions are missing.

SECTION A (40 MARKS)
Answer all the questions in this section. Marks are indicated in bracket.

1. John is a new employee at a tech company. He is highly skilled but often misses
project deadlines because he struggles to prioritize tasks. His manager has expressed
concern over his time management. Identify four strategies John can adopt to improve
his time management and meet project deadlines more effectively. (4 marks)

2. Sarah is a talented designer who works well independently. However, she often has
difficulty collaborating with her colleagues and avoids team projects, which has led to
conflicts. Outline four ways Sarah can create a conflict resolution process so as to
improve her teamwork and collaboration skills within the organization. (4 marks)

3. Mark is an excellent communicator, but he struggles with adapting to new


technologies that the company recently introduced. His inability to quickly learn new
software has slowed down his productivity. Suggest four methods Mark can use to set
workplace priorities so as to develop his adaptability and learn new technological
skills in the workplace. (4
marks)

4. Emma is a highly motivated employee who consistently produces high-quality


work. However, she tends to get defensive when given feedback, which has affected
her relationship with her supervisor. Discuss four strategies that Emma can use to
improve her receptiveness to feedback and enhance her professional development.

(4 marks)

5. A logistics company is restructuring its operations, and employees are now required
to take on more diverse roles. Many of the workers are struggling to adjust to the new
responsibilities and expectations. Identify four ways to motivate the employees and
promote learning so that they can successfully adapt to the restructuring. (4 marks)

6. Tom, a project coordinator, often has difficulty delegating tasks to his team
members. As a result, he finds himself overwhelmed with work, which leads to
missed deadlines and high stress. Outline four ways that Tom can use to manage
stress and develop better leadership and task delegation skills. (4 marks)

7. A retail store has been receiving complaints from customers about poor service.
The store manager has noticed that staff members lack initiative in resolving customer
issues, and this has led to low customer satisfaction. Outline four principles the retail
staff should develop to be more initiative and efficient so as to improve customer
service and overall store performance. (4 marks)

8. During a team meeting, Jane presented a report on the company’s sales


performance. While her analysis was sound, her presentation lacked structure, and her
colleagues had difficulty understanding her key points. Suggest four steps Jane can
implement in problem-solving with her team so as to improve her communication for
future meetings. (4 marks)

9. A startup is facing a high employee turnover rate due to the company’s


unpredictable work environment. Employees have expressed frustration about the lack
of work-life balance and the constant pressure to meet aggressive deadlines. State four
importance of leisure time at the workplace. (4 marks)

10. Alex is known for his creativity and problem-solving skills, but he struggles with
punctuality and often arrives late to important meetings. His manager has warned him
that this habit is affecting his professional reputation. State four strategies Alex can
adopt to improve his punctuality and maintain a positive professional image. (4
marks)
SECTION B (60 MARKS)
Answer ALL the questions in this section.

11. A non-profit organization is preparing for an important fundraising event. The


team is diverse, with members from different cultural backgrounds, and they are
facing challenges in collaborating effectively.

a) Identify five skills that can help the team overcome cultural differences and work
together more effectively. (10 marks)
b) Discuss five ways they can implement conflict resolution. (10 marks)

12. Lucy has been promoted to a managerial role in her company. While she excels in
her technical skills, she lacks confidence in managing her team and making executive
decision.

a) Outline five ways Lucy can develop to be assertive so as to excel in her new role
and manage her team effectively. (10 marks)
b) Explain five strategies for developing and maintaining self-esteem at work.

13. David has been tasked with leading a project that involves multiple departments in
the company. He is struggling to coordinate efforts and ensure that all stakeholders
are aligned on the project goals.

a) Discuss five steps that David should develop to manage individual performance.

(10 marks)

b) Explain five ways David can identify his strengths and weaknesses so as to
successfully lead the project and ensure cross-departmental collaboration. (10 marks)
