EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Connect Us is an initiative designed to strengthen the connection between Marketing students at


Universidad Tecnológica El Retoño and the business sector, aiming to facilitate professional
internships, establish strategic alliances, and create long-term institutional agreements. This
event seeks to ensure that all 19 students from the LINM 10A program secure internship
opportunities, providing them with practical experience and a smoother transition from academia
to the workforce. Additionally, the forum aims to formalize at least five agreements with
participating companies, reinforcing UTR’s reputation as a university committed to fostering
student employability and professional development. The execution strategy includes a
structured plan with a detailed timeline, task checklists, and a precise schedule to ensure
seamless event coordination. The forum’s success will be measured through key performance
indicators, such as the student placement rate in companies, the increase in corporate agreements,
and the participation of at least five companies in the event. This initiative will not only benefit
the current generation of students but will also establish a sustainable model for industry
collaboration, enhancing graduate employability and contributing to a more competitive
professional ecosystem.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

Design and execute an exclusive business event that connects students from the Marketing
program at UTR with medium and large companies, with the purpose of positioning the program
as a priority option for recruitment and collaborations.

Key Objectives

●​ Facilitating internships: The event will provide each Marketing student with more
opportunities to connect with companies, making it easier for them to find places to
complete their professional internships in line with their academic profile.
●​ Strategic alliances: Strong relationships will be established with the participating
companies, increasing the likelihood that they will consider UTR students and graduates
as a preferred option for future employment or collaborative projects.
●​ Long-term institutional agreements: The event will serve as a foundation for
generating agreements between the university and the companies, ensuring that future
generations can also establish direct contact with these organizations in a more accessible
and strategic way.

Main Benefits

at UTR is assigned a company where they can complete their professional internships.

CONTEXT AND IMPORTANCE OF THE PROJECT

This networking event stands as a strategic initiative designed to strengthen the ties between
academia and the business sector, specifically in the field of marketing. By facilitating
interaction between university students and representatives from various companies, we aim to:

●​ Enhance students' professional development: Equip future professionals with the tools
and knowledge necessary for successful integration into the job market. Through this
event, students will develop essential skills such as effective communication, teamwork,
and adaptability to dynamic business environments.
●​ Bridge the gap between academia and industry: Create a solid link between the academic
world and the business sector, enabling companies to identify and recruit young talent,
while students gain firsthand knowledge of market demands and trends.
●​ Generate value for all stakeholders: Both students and companies will benefit tangibly
from this gathering. Students will expand their professional networks, gain practical
experience, and acquire valuable opportunities for professional development. Meanwhile,
companies can identify emerging talent, strengthen their employer brand, and establish
strategic partnerships with educational institutions.
●​ Align academic training with market needs: Ensure that marketing academic programs
are aligned with current industry demands, thereby fostering the employability of
graduates.

This event presents a unique opportunity to create a collaborative ecosystem between academia
and industry, where students and companies can co-create a more prosperous and competitive
future. By fostering meaningful connections and knowledge exchange, we contribute to the
development of a new generation of highly skilled marketing professionals prepared to meet the
challenges of the job market.
Factors Influencing

One of the main factors impacting students in the Marketing program at Universidad
Tecnológica El Retoño (UTR) is the need for work experience. Students are required to complete
professional internships to meet their academic requirements and develop practical skills that
will enhance their professional profiles. In addition, there is a lack of linkage with companies.
While there is an increasing demand from students to undertake internships, there is not always a
sufficient number of companies willing to accept interns, limiting opportunities for students to
gain experience in their field of study. Another relevant factor is the lack of awareness about
opportunities. Many students do not have the necessary information about companies offering
internship programs, reducing their chances of accessing these opportunities and developing in
their professional field. Furthermore, competition in the job market is becoming increasingly
fierce. In a highly competitive environment, employers seek talent that not only has academic
training but also practical experience, which means the lack of these opportunities limits the job
prospects of graduates.

Event Purpose

The purpose of this event is to facilitate contact between UTR students and companies offering
professional internship programs. It aims to improve students’ employability and strengthen the
relationship between the university and the business sector, creating new development
opportunities for students and contributing to their successful integration into the labor market.

Possible Solution

To address the mentioned factors, a networking event will be organized where companies can
present their professional internship programs. Marketing, design, and creative strategies will be
used to attract companies from the sector and promote the event to students. Additionally,
students will be provided with all relevant information regarding the requirements, benefits, and
opportunities offered by participating companies, ensuring that both students and companies find
what they are looking for.
STEPS OR STRATEGY TO IMPLEMENT THE PROJECT

Plan, design, and execute a comprehensive plan for the Business Forum, which will be attended
by at least 60 people, including academics and entrepreneurs. The objective is for LINM10A
students to establish connections with the business sector to facilitate their professional
internships. Additionally, ensure the efficient coordination and organization of activities on the
day of the event by implementing the previously established strategies.

The proper planning and execution of this event are crucial to creating an environment that
fosters formality and effective interaction between the business and academic sectors, ensuring
meaningful alliances.

To achieve this, various strategies and tools will be implemented to support the successful
development of the Business Forum.

First, time management and detailed planning are fundamental. The event’s development will
follow a structured process divided into key stages. The first stage involves outlining all
event-related activities in a Gantt Chart. The second stage includes creating a checklist covering
tasks, required materials, and other essential elements. Finally, the third stage consists of
developing a schedule that details all activities to be carried out the day before and during the
event, organized minute by minute.

The following is a detailed description of what it consists of


●​ Stage 1: Gantt Chart:
Clearly define the activities and tasks required to carry out the event.
Establish deadlines for each activity, taking into account their duration and
dependencies.
●​ Stage 2: Checklist
Develop checklists so that the work groups are aware of their tasks and activities.
●​ Stage 3: Minute-by-minute activities and responsible parties
Assign responsibility for each task and establish follow-up mechanisms.
Include break times for staff and preparation times before the event.
IMPACT, BENEFITS AND KEY SUCCESS METRICS
The participation of students in this project, which aims to create a connection between students
and companies, will facilitate both intellectual enrichment and experience in the area of
marketing, with a special focus on the highly competitive world of work. Taking into account the
aforementioned, this type of alliance will have a significant long-term impact on future
generations of marketing students by having an agreement with a company that is interested in
receiving new young talents with the initiative to face different adversities in the workplace.

Now taking a short-term approach, the main benefits to be achieved would be mainly to provide
support to marketing students of the present generation in the opportunity to actively collaborate
in their company for the next stays 2025, and the enrichment of experience during the period of
time intended to cover the stay, but especially in that learning that is not practiced or obtained in
universities, learning the different factors that make companies have a high competitive level and
contributing professionals to the industry, thus generating an even more competitive labour
ecosystem.

The main metrics that are contemplated to determine the success of this project are the
following:
1.​ Each of the 19 students of the Bachelor's degree in Business Innovation and Marketing
will participate in one of the companies that will be present in the aforementioned for the
development of the internships 2025.
Placement rate= (Number of students placed in companies/Total number of students)x100
2.​ Increase the number of registered agreements with companies of the Universidad
Tecnológica el Retoño to five.
Progress percentage= (New agreement signed/agreement goal)x100
3.​ Have at least 19 companies present at the networking event.
Achievement rate= (companies present at the event/minimum goal of companies)x100
CONCLUSION

This project represents a key opportunity to strengthen the connection between Universidad
Tecnológica El Retoño and the business sector, ensuring that Marketing students gain access to
professional internships aligned with their interests and academic training. Beyond facilitating
immediate job opportunities, this event lays the foundation for long-term strategic collaborations,
benefiting both students and participating companies. Through structured planning and key
performance measurement, the forum’s success and its impact on student employability will be
ensured. This initiative not only enhances the professional growth of current participants but also
positions UTR as an institution committed to developing highly competitive talent, fostering a
sustainable ecosystem of learning and professional development for future generations.
