3&4 Functions of negative angles, graphs, Inverse and principal values

4&5 Inverse trigonometric functions and their graphs.

6&7 Pythagoras’ theorem, identities, sine and cosine rules.

8 Small angle approximations.

9 & 10 Identities with inverse functions, factor formulae.

11 Solid trigonometry

12 Test 1

13 & 14 Introduction to calculus, limits.

15 & 16 Maximum/minimum investigation, gradient.

17 & 18 Differential from first principle, general formula, constant, sum, product, quotients.

19 & 20 Equations of tangents and normal.

21 Higher orders derivatives.

22 &2 3 Stationary points, Maxima and Minima points, Curve sketching.

24 Chain rule, Product rule, Quotient rule.

25 Test 2

26 Differentiating implicitly, Parametric differentiation.

27 Differentiating trigonometric functions.

28 Differentiating inverse trigonometric functions.

29 Differentiating exponential functions.

30 Differentiating logarithmic functions.

31 Partial differentials
32 Definite integrals, area under curves.

33 Volumes, Solids of Revolution.

34 Integration by substitutions.

35 Integration by parts.

36 Test 3

37 Legendre equation and Legendre polynomials.

38 Laguerre equation and Laguerre polynomials.

39 Conversion of spherical coordinates to polar coordinates

ASESSMENT:
COURSE WORK = 40 %
3 Tests =25% (Tests will be conducted during tutorial periods)
2 Assignments =15%
FINAL EXAMINATION =60% (2 hours written examination paper)
