Piping Inspection Responsibilities: -
 Material receiving inspection.
 Monitor piping erection at site and perform all related inspection during the fabrication and
erection.
 Ensure satisfactory identification of materials, proper protection of piping and fittings.
Verify proper size and schedule of pipe, rating of flanges, proper flange face and fittings.
 Inspect piping just before erection to verify that interior is clear of foreign materials. Check
edge preparation and fit-ups to verify that areas to be welded are free of contaminants and
that fit-up is within tolerance.
 Verify proper size, schedule of pipes, ratings of flanges, proper flange face and fittings,
pipe- supports, hangers, guides are installed according to piping isometrics, support
drawings and according to the required specifications.
 Check flow direction of valves and confirmation of the piping system concurring with the
flow diagram.
 Monitor and inspect the prefabrication works by the sub-contractors including the
inspection of materials, and material handling, heat number transfer, fit-up, welding
activities, reinforcement pad testing, orientation, gaskets, flush grinding of orifice
flanges, erection of supports, hangers, guides special supports are installed in
accordance to the approved drawing.
 Verify that pressure gauges have adequate dial range and are calibrated prior to pressure
testing.
 Witness Hydro tests, Pneumatic tests, Flushing, Chemical cleaning, Air blowing,
checking the calibration of pressure gauges, safety relief valves, line checks, punch list
preparation, punch clearing, confirm repairs, re-testing and re-inspection.
 Periodic inspection of backing and holding ovens, Review of hydro test packages prior to
release for testing to verify NDT and all related inspection according to the inspection
and test plan are completed including the reports, revised drawing, supports drawings,
and entire documentation.
 Verify that the testing pressure does not exceed the allowable test pressure. And the
required test pressure was maintained for the specified length of time with no acceptable
leakage.
 Achieving final package clearance from Client.
 Perform sub-contractor audits, Organized meeting with client to settle NCR issues prior
to release for testing.
 Review line history sheet and verify all the required documents are compiled according to
the quality control procedure and with the approved formats. Conduct walk through with
Client for mechanical completion of system / piping and close punch list.
Welding & NDT Inspections Responsibilities: -
 Witness and verify the material and fittings, gaskets flanges, as per drawing and bill of
materials. Visual Inspection of pipe fit up, welds joints, and reject/accept asper acceptance
criteria / welding procedures specifications.
 Review welding procedure specifications, prior to start of welding activities. Preparation
of Line History sheets for weld joints for piping loop.
 Monitor electrodes issuing system and verify calibration certificates of baking and holding
oven. Verify alignment of piping connections, fit-up etc. Inspection of weld visual report
and release for radiography.
 Welding consumable Inspection, monitoring consumable storage, and issuing system.
Monitor Preheat and Stress relieving of pipe welds / joints and review records.
 Visual and dimensional inspection of completed weld against the specification
requirements and welding procedures / drawings. Verification to ensure the applicable
welding procedures specifications (WPS) are approved by the authorities, prior to start
welding activities and the approved welding procedures are utilized for the production and
process activities, inspection of pipe supports as per detail support drawing.
 Coordination with construction department for completion of Corrective actions for Non-
Conformance. Preparation and review of project welder performance report. Prepare punch
list for all incomplete items, prior to release for hydro testing according to the punch list
category.
 Line check prior to hydro test, to verify the entire work in the test limits has been
completed as per isometric and project quality control procedures /specifications
/standards.
 Monitor and inspects nuts and stud bolts as per BOM (bill of materials) and correct size
and type, and all the pipe and pipe support installed according to the approved drawing and
specification.
 Package review and monitor the test package is in accordance with the approved procedure.
Inspection of valve, type of valves, and direction of valve installed, and valve handle or
intention, valve tag number, flange rating &size, vales operation and maintenance access.
 Review hydro test package to ensure that the NDT summary, weld summary, weld map,
support drawing, valve list, approved drawing duly marked the test limits, P &Id marked
with test boundaries, check list, and all the related documents are attached in the test
package as per the project requirements.
 Monitor project package documentation, prior to handing over to the client. Ensuring that
all welding operations are executed in accordance with all relevant Codes of Practices and
Company procedures/practices.
 Ensuring that all Welding, Heat Treatment, any hardness testing, Inspection and Non-
destructive testing comply with the relevant codes and specifications.
 Arrange and co-ordinate NDT tests including reviewing and interpretation of the
radiography films. Liaise with NDT subcontractors, third party surveyors as per quality
system and project specific requirements.
 Interpret and evaluate Non-Destructive Examination (VT, RT, DPT, UT, MPT)
 Conduct inspection of Pre-Weld Joint Set-Ups and Post Weld Joint Visuals. Select Welds
for NDE and maintaining daily reports.
 Experience in develop and coordinate recommended corrective and preventive actions.
 Experience in RT, MT, VT, PT, PMI, PWHT and Hardness testing.
 Preparation of final NDE and welding summary.
