Affirmative Form:
• I was studying.
• They were playing football.
Negative Form:
• She was not (wasn't) watching TV.
• We were not (weren't) listening to music.
Interrogative Form:
• Was he sleeping?
• Were you working?
Usage
We use the Past Continuous tense to describe:
1. An action in progress at a specific time in the past:
• At 7 PM, I was cooking dinner.
2. Two actions happening at the same time in the past:
• While I was reading, my sister was listening to music.
3. An interrupted action in the past:
• I was watching TV when the phone rang.
